Extreme Pro 2.0

Hello there,

Im currently using the Extreme Pro 2.0. Love its power and stability, but it aint a comfortable racket at the net and it's getting heavy after playing a while. Also a lot of shots going long.

Before I picked up the Extrme pro's I always played with the Wilson six one teams, more of a control frame.

Tried the youtek radical mp, but it isnt really stable and too light

Im thinking about going back to a more controlframe. 18x20.

Someone's got some suggestions for me, which rackets I should try?

So since on vacation and way too much time on my hands LOL. I will again dispel the myth that the rkt makes you hit long, so go to TWU shot distance plug in extreme pro 2.0 and your Wison 6.1 team and you will be surprised the Extreme hits 2 inches longer than the Wilson but both NOT out. How can that be? Well answer is in TWU. shot hit exactly the same both rkts, so the only variable is the rkt itself. In other words your/ my technique causes it to go out BUT NOT THE RACQUET

I understand...but the control with the extreme is less and the racket is heavy. The six one team isnt stable against the big hitters. So I'm searching rackets that are stable comfortable and better for my arm.

Anyone? an Idea?

So I suggest if you know your ideal swing weight go from there and go to TWU sections plow through or vibration and match your ideal SW with biggest plow through or lowest vibration transmission. Your mission is a difficult one as low SW are often unstable, but using this tool you can come up with demo list

My thoughts about the EP2.0 are similiar to yours. Too powerful and too heavy to wield for extended play.
So I'm experimenting a bit trying to make it more headlight essentially. I figure this would give it less power and also make its weight more manageable at the same time.
I removed the plastic head guard and cut off most of it save for the grommets. Then just put some guard tape to protect the head.

I'm quite liking it right now. It actually feels a tad too light now but I can now customize to my liking. I'd likely polarize it a bit more with some lead tape at 12. It's stable enough as it is. Will replace with a wilson shockshield grip also to dampen it a bit as it does feel a tad harsher without the weight from the head guard.

i used the EP for over a year-- added a leather grip to make it more HL.. no issues at net at all..

what string are you using? certain strings didnt work well for me in this racket-- it loves full poly at lower tension - at least for me.. i hit hard - lots of spin.

I was told or made to understand that the Extreme line from head would be the line you'd want to go to to avoid all the problems that some of the mentioned racquets cause at the net and with arm heaviness.
I certainly thought the Extreme would be more manuevarable at net than the Speed, APD, etc. I can't speak to any of the Yonex racquets.. I've never ever hit with any of those.

I think the newer Yonex frames (Ezone AI 98, Tour G 330) are the best in the industry right now. Loved the Pure Strike Tour and other Babolat rackets, but Yonex's quality surpasses Babolats or Head rackets I have been using for the past year.

Loved playing with the Extreme Pro 2.0, which Imthought was a baseliner's dream racket with awesome stability, spin and plow through.
