Ezone 98 2025 vs Vcore 98 2026

EZ98 more comfortable (very plush), better control, lower launch angle. VC98 feels stiffer (not uncomfortable but not as plush), below average control for a 98, higher launch angle. Power is comparable but the VC98 is launchier and harder to tame. I think most people will prefer the EZ98.

I can share a similar experience. VC98 2026 may be a bit more powerful (still below Pure Aero 100 2026/Head Speed MP in terms of power) but the launch is insanely hard to tame if you are not hitting every shot with high RPMs.
I struggled a lot with this frame on short balls, I was sailing everything long.
Manoeuvrability is also clearly below average in the 98 market, which makes control even harder because the frame doesn't have enough whipiness to help you with top spin production which is essential to control this frame.
I just sold mine.

Ezone 98- just barely more control, barely less power, decent amount of less feel
Vcore 98- barely more power, better topspin, I didn't find a huge difference in launch angle, I had no issue keeping balls in once I realized the harder you swing, the better, even then only 1 out of 20 would go out IF I was a bit lazy.

The major difference for me was feel/sound. The Vcore 98 feels "better" to me, I can almost promise the next Ezone will follow the feel of this new Vcore, it has to in my mind.

Yes, the Ezone is more maneuverable, but they both are good enough. I think you could switch back and forth between them easily, maybe the tiebreaker is feel or the tiebreaker is the Vcore is 2 years or so newer in research and tech, so maybe that makes it superior?

I found the VC98 to have as much useful control as my Regna, all kinds of pinpoint shots possible.

I essentially agree with this. But I personally prefer the VC98. Problem is I have 3 of them but now ive switched to the 2026 PA98! Will probably sell mine

The Ezone 98 feels more plush and controlled, with a bit less power compared to the Vcore 98. It also has a slightly lower trajectory, though I’ve had no issues flattening the ball with the Vcore either.

The Vcore 98 has a higher ceiling in terms of power and spin, which translates to heavier shots overall.

The biggest difference for me is how each racquet fits stroke mechanics. The Ezone 98 feels more whippy and suits a modern, compact swing. It really rewards late acceleration and that snap through contact. The Vcore 98 feels better with longer, more fluid strokes.

In terms of playstyle, I’d say the Vcore 98 shines more when you’re dictating points, while the Ezone 98 is more all-around and forgiving.

Serves are slightly better with the Vcore for me, both flat and spin.

Feel-wise, I prefer the Vcore.

Just my personal experience.

-once you guys see the new colorway of the ezone.2026, you might just wanna pick one up!
-they call it mocha color! 4 colors total, maybe 5 (not sure if i recall seeing black accents)!
-i got a 60s/70s vibe to it!! but very cool!!
-its just a color update to the 2026 model..
-dark.mocha brown color mainly, orange sections/spots, lighter brown color sections, silver lettering!!
-im not a ezone player at all, but this color.combo scheme is something else!!
-bag and shoes for this should also be droping soon
-bag looked very cool with the mostly mocha color
-shoes are mostly black and the other colors are accents to it, not my favorite
-eta, US open time frame; august/2026

Sweeet! Was hoping for a gloss black stick circa Supreme release!!!

I noticed Shapovalov was playing with a gloss finish Ezone at IW, looks pretty sharp and better than the matte finish IMO. I assume these aren’t available for the public?

Any reason to pick up the new vc98, if I'm reasonable happy with 2019 Regna 98? I'm doubles player mostly these days. Love Regna feel, but the mind wanders in relation to am I making this game harder? :)

I’ve never even seen a regna, much less played with one and I suspect not many people have played with one so in terms of comparison with other racquets, good luck. And if you love the feel of what you’re playing with currently, I’d recommend less wandering of the mind personally.

I don't think so, but for me I don't find the Regna hard to use at all. I'm only dabbling because my Regna is all old and decaying and ya know what, I'm bored AND I'm looking for a stopgap between now and when the newest Regna comes out which should be this summer! But, no, only if you like shiny red things.

Probably right, regarding feel. But Fuzzy mentioned his Regna in his post, so luck may be on the table. :)
They are getting closer to Regna feel, but they aren't there yet and if they put servo filter on the newest Regna, woohoo, it will jump way out ahead on feel again.

I think they are v different rackets, regna is whippier and has more control but a lot less stable and powerful. Reason to switch would be if you want more power and more stability in stock

I feel like because of how expensive and hard to get Regnas are, that I don’t really want to use mine all the time and beat it to hell because it’s like a collector’s item. So I only hit with it once in a while and prefer to use other cheaper more accessible frames, though the feel of the Regna is unlike any other racket.

You make sense, but I mean, if you like it better just use it, mine lasted about 4 years of good play hours upon hours per week. Right now they are hard to get because they allegedly stopped making these gearing up for the new ones.

I think 2026 Vcore 98, 2025 Ezone 98, and Regna 98 are so so so close. Ezone maneuverable, pow pow, muted, Regna, maneuverable, powish, not muted, Vcore POW POW, not muted lol.
But the differences are so slight, I could switch between each one every game I play and not care, I did that with the Regna and 2026 Vcore 98, just switched every game, no letdown no aggrivation.

I hope more are on the horizon soon, cant wait to see how they update for a gen4 Regna. I just don’t want to pay like 550 plus another 75 in shipping from Japan for another Regna on a certain four letter site.

Yes, you will like it ;)

I have the ezone 98 and ezone 98 +.
Currently prefer the plus slightly over the standard model. Only thing that worries me about the vcore is the high launch angle some have mentioned. The ezone is direct and low. Not sure how long it would take to adjust but may have to give the vcore a demo.

The V8 fixed the launch angle, it's an all arounder now in my opinion, watch the PH Tennis review, I agree with most of that, the rackets are now interchangeable with very slight differences but launch angle isn't a problem, that's why the V7 Vcore people don't really like this new version, they liked that crazy launch angle.

Agree with this, I have played with the blade pro for 18 months recently and the v8 vcore actually feels like a head light version of it, versatile all rounder racket with huge power. main difference that the blade pro gets this power from head heavy balance and swing weight, with the v8 vcore it comes from the beam width and layup.

Interesting, would you say the Vcore has more power in comparison to the ezone?

I played with the Blade V9 18x20 and found it lacking in power, probably because it's the 18x20 and not the 16x19.

I also played with the Radical 2023 and didn't like it.

The Ezone was the best in terms of comfort and had a lot of free power.

VCORE silo is dead to me.
For some players (depends on mechanics), one out of every five or so forehands can hit the fence.
I'm one of those players.
I never do this with an Extreme Pro, Ezone 98, Prestige MPL, Percept 100D, 100, 97, or Radical MP/Pro, etc.

Why does this happen with a Vcore?
I believe the inconsistent string bed is a result of the larger grommet openings.
They are designed to be larger than normal to stimulate random string movement to encourage additional spin....

Nah, it's as accurate and consistent as my Regnas.

It's no prestige, but who wants to mess with that. Vcore isn't the best racket ever made, but control is for sure not a complaint from most people, it's a chunk though.
I used my buddies’ Vcore with full natural gut at 45 lbs and even then it did not feel launchy at all. I imagine a full poly setup would be even more controlled. With the natural gut setup, my misses were mainly by a foot or less, not like meters out.

I have tried and felt it was a rocket launcher. Pure Drive had a better directional and depth control. My experience is also reflected on TW review. What do you think making such drastic differences?

String setups and playing styles. I had the same experience as you and also feel that the PD has better control (I consider the 25PD underrated as control is actually pretty decent), but racquet experiences can vary greatly from person to person. We see it all the time here when someone says a frame is comfortable and another will say it felt stiff and hurt their arm. Different strokes as there's not a consensus perfect racquet for everyone.

Speaking of racquets that hurt your arm, I’m familiar with Babolat racquets causing lots of arm pain, particularly older ones, is anyone having issues with Yonex? I recall a few years ago hearing about issues with the previous EZone but haven’t heard much lately.

Yes, the 2022 Ezone got to some people, not as much as babolots seem to, but if you were one of the unlucky ones it did hurt people.

I definitely had some shoulder discomfort. Racquets played great but when the new Ezones came out the softer frame was an improvement for my shoulder.

No issues. Vcore has a nice crisp response for a 63 RA
I just bought the vcore 100D and wasn’t expecting any issues, but Tennis Warehouse has the RA at 66, which surprised me, but I’m having trouble with my elbow now after playing with it 4 times last week, even with my preferred string setup, Otoro and Sync. Hmmm.

I probably should have specified it was a 98 which has a more open string pattern and lower ra than the 100D.
