I did that with confidential

also poly tour pro at 48 max. I prefer much lower string tension and I think it fits well with the ezone.

depends on the string and temperature I find. I have not liked high tension in the ezone so far.

Confidential 16L paired with ezone98's super dense 16x19 pattern was like shooting laser beams. I am trying rightw now S7Tour 1.25 with Ezone98 and ExtremeTour. Bith have very dense 16x19 pattern and i guess S7T will slightly help with launch angle.

I play with the Ezone 98 Tour and have strung it with the Yonex PTP, Solinco Hyper G, Lux alu power, lux alu element and Weiss Cannon Ultra cable. I realize its not as conventional but I prefer the Weiss Cannon UC at 17 guage. After that I though the Yonex PTP yellow was a great match for it. I string at between 53 and 55 depending on time of year.

I play with the Ezone 98 305 gr with Poly Tour Pro 1.25 (16L) at 24kg (52 lbs). The setup is great but I'm thinking about trying to lower it to 22 kg (48 lbs).

Is Ultra Cable a chunky heavy string compare to other 1.25 like PTP ?

I added to my comment that I use also very low tension on the ezone and like it as well. I would not be afraid to try it. I feel I have MUCH more control when tension is lower. I tried it at 55 and I can't do it, I have to hold back.

S7T didnt work at 52lbs and just tried Confidential 17 at 52lbs , works like wonder!
Will try again the S7T at 46lbs and see , because i love its tension maintainance.

at was at the end of my S7T reel when I got the ezone last year so I had one or two go at it and it was about that mid 40s... But now I go even mmuch lower than that. I should give S7T another try, it was good.

Thanks!
I have been trying a few poly strings to replace Yptp because it only lasts me 4 hours max before moving all over but i have not yet found one i really like besides maybe Head lynx tour but the 1.25 is more like 1.30 in size. So i might have to try Confidential or something similar although i prefer round strings!

String tension of ptp?

Yonex Poly Tour Spin 1.25 in mains and WeissCannon Scorpion 1.22 in Crosses. 22/21kg tension. Works really nice in this combination. Scorpion is soft and does not saw through YPTS as quickly as other stiffer strings. Tension maintenance is ok. According to the tension-app it goes from 22kg off the stringing machine down to 18kg after 4 weeks (roughly 20 hours of play), but the snap back is still very good even after all this time.

Why is it that some people have more control when they lower the tension? I really want to learn more about this.

I've been using Lux 4g at 47lbs. I find the Ezone to be a little muted and the stiff 4G gives me good feedback although I will probably drop the tension a couple pounds next time around.

A lot of it is technique driven, but it comes down to ball pocketing. Some rackets (esp the ez98) don't hold the ball on the strings as much as others. Dropping the tension helps pocket the ball longer and provides a more predictable response.

I tried a few string setups but YPTP seems to work best for me. 47/44 was still a bit firmer than expected. If I stuck with the racket, I think 45/43 would have been better.

I tried Poly Tour Pro 1.25 at 48 and it was ok. Like it did what I needed it to do but it didn't wow me. I'm using Toroline Wasabi 1.25 right now at 47 and it's better for me in that it's softer, helps with a bit more spin production, and the vibrant red color is pretty nice. After this i'm going back to my tried and true Head Lynx 1.25 in green to see how that plays. That string hasn't let me down in all the sticks i've put it in so i'm excited for that

thank you for the time
I'll give it a try!
when I string my ezone 98 (latest copy) I go 52/51 with a round/soft co poly.
would you say 48/47 is a good place to start for me? or is that not far enough to make a big impactful change to the feel?

The feel is one thing, but you often cant make that large without changing the results as well. Do you find any issues with your current setup? I wouldnt lower tension without knowing exactly what im looking for. Lowering tension wont automatically give you more control

So, follow-up on my post in the 5th Aug.
I wanted to try PTP at 22kg (48 lbs) but the stringer made it at 18kg (40 lbs) by mistake...o_O It was too springy and lacking of control but I quite liked the lower tension.
I also tried the PT Strike 1.25 at 24kg (52 lbs). Much more firm feel in my opinion. Not enough touch in my personal preference I felt like loosing the Ezone power and any feel, so no added control in the play. The lack of touch made all volley and touch shots particularly difficult.
Now, I got one with PTP at 22kg (for real this time) as well as PT Rev 1.25 at 22kg as well. Hopefully not too firm (not like PTS) and with better spin potential compared to PTP.
I will let you know!;)

So, after couple of sessions. PTP at 22kg is great, lower the tension on the combo Ezone98/PTP works for me.
On the other hand, PT Rev (at 22kg) was a bit of a surprise. The packaging says it is a firm spin oriented string. In my opinion it is not that firm and does not have a big spin potential. It remains a playable string but it plays to me more like firm/control version of the PTP. So it you are looking for a spin string, I would suggest to go firm Babolat Rough or Lux Rough and not this REV. If you like a medium firm string with standard spin potential for a poly, you can be interested. I did not play enough to juge the tension maintenance.
As the PTP is much cheaper and offer a softer feel that I prefer, my choice is clear now with the PTP at 22kg.
