Fake Asian BLX 90 (Pics Included)? HELP!!

Hey Guys.

I put a post up here in the wanted section for a Asian BLX 90, someone E-Mailed me with pictures of one that they would like to sell, it looks fine but there is a Warranty Card attached to throat? Is that normal for the Asian version?

I will try and post pictures A.S.A.P!

Cheers!

Seems like a genuine guy, but when i asked him to pop open the butt cap he said "I am not willing to open the butt cap, to be honest. Are you concerning about a hollow handle with nails sticking out vs. a foam-filled handle? I heard that argument as well..."
I can understand if he doesn't want to brake the shrink wrap and show me and then i decline. But i won't anyway, Unless it's a Obvious fake.

So can anyone please tell me some info by the pics i have posted?

I think I have the answer for you. I was contacted by the same seller too. He provided me with the same photos so I did some research. I believe the racquet is fake.

The first bit of proof is the placement of the paintjob in comparison to the grommets. Check out where the "Wilson" in gold is on my US BLX90 in comparison to one in the photos provided (it's WAY off):

I then went one step further and emailed a very reputable poster (BounceHitBounceHit) as he has some genuine Asian BLX90's and he confirmed that his matched my US ones and NOT the ones sent to you of the Asian BLX being offered for sale.

So it's fake. The seller was very nice with me too and he may not even know his racquet is fake.

Hope this helps.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've been in search of one too. I do have one coming from another TW member who's got some good references and all checks out. It's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow so I'll know for sure if it's real then - but from the photos provided and his references I have good hope.

I like you almost bought the one you posted about... almost. Luckily BHBH was kind enough to help me verify that it's fake.

Please let me know how that transaction goes. Post some pictures on this thread of the racquet? If you want?

BHBH is a good guy also!

totally fake. There is no foam. I have US BLX 90s and they are both foam packed with a dark grey/blackish foam

Also, look how cheaply and poorly the plastic flash is trimmed inside. Mine is perfect and even down the middle and looks polished like it was done by a proper machine tool. This looks like a kid took a drill to it.

I'm also willing to bet there is led tape down the handle under the leather grip to match the weight to a real one (because of the poor knockoff manufacturing quality)

I have to agree. I don't have my Asian BLX yet but I do have a US BLX and an Asian K90 (real one) - I just took a photo of both and as you can see they are both solid foam inside. So that's two indications now that it's fake. I would not risk buying it.

The guy does sound nice in his email so:
  1. He's a nice guy and doesn't realize he has a fake.
  2. He's a scammer who's pretending to act nice.

My real Asian BLX arrived today - and it matches my US BLX in terms of cosmetics, what's inside the butt cap, etc.... so I'm afraid the one being offered to you is fake (as previously shown).

Warranty card - would not worry about that too much ... it's the frame you'll play with ;) I got my racquet with all the 'stuff' that it was purchased with and a warranty card was not one of the items.

Case closed :)

How does the ABLX90 play comparing to the AK90? Is it more HL than the AK? Thus does it feel less stable?

Thanks in advance.

I think the differences are subtle. To me the ABLX plays a little softer and more comfortable feeling and yes slightly lighter / headlight. I don't have a scale or balance board so that's just based on my perception. I think the differences are minimal so so far I havnt felt any real difference in stability. I've only logged in a few hours with the ABLX so it's a bit early to give it a worthwhile comparison. For whatever its worth it just "feels right" to me.... And I already liked the AK90 so this one is just a bit nicer yet.

I gotta say, that is one good looking replica though! Man, I just hope they never get the fonts, grommets, and foam inside the handle correct, or else it'll be extremely difficult to determine the difference.

The ABLX90 is definitely more flexible than the AK90. It feels closer to a wooden racket compared to the AK90 and for some reason I think it has a smaller sweetspot. It is soft feeling racket. That's just my opinion.

I just bought an asian N90 by accident. I went to buy 2 n90s thinking they were both US models but one turned out to be an asian.

Anyone have any experience with the Ncode version? How would it compare to the other asians? Or the US models (Kfactor, BLX)?

One thing that I don't understand is the use of pictures as proof. If someone was truly a scammer and wanted to sell you a fake racquet, wouldn't they just keep a real one on hand and send you pictures of that?????
