I played tennis once with a guy in NY who was playing against the NY Rangers, he played for the LA kings and showed up at the courts and said he wanted to play with a good player. I was a top ranked Jr player. He was easily the fastest, most athletic guy I was ever on the court with. But he was far from famous...

Hockey players in the early 80's were probably pretty anonymous.

Hockey players in the early 80's were probably pretty anonymous.

He played in the 2000s and is now one the broadcast team for the local NHL team. That being said, overall most hockey players can probably walk around most places without getting swamped by fans.
