I've always been curios - who would be the real GOAT if fantasy tournament could gather all the best from different periods. And these best players would be on their best, on their given day.
Relatively speaking, speeds, phisical conditions and rackets now and during Rod Laver era are completely different. So, yes, in my eyes 2-time Grand Slam owner Laver would have 0 chances against any of top players of our days.
I've imagined these fantasy matches from matches that we saw. From capabilities that these players showed us during their best days.
Please don't judge me too strictly - everyone has a right to fantasize. Why not?) So that's just my personal opinion
Event scheme.
Now I'll explain you the rules upon which I made fantasy event with 16 players to determine the real GOAT of the game.
I took 15 guys with most weeks on top position in ATP rankings + I gave 1 Wild Card also for ex no 1, who, objectively could be the threat in this all-time stardom event. This Wild Card came to Marat Safin.
Competitors were seeded based on the place that they are at in Weeks on the top position ranking.
I've got 4 groups of 4 players with Round Robin format. 2 best from each group qualified for the Qurterfinals. Then - semifinals, then - Final.
Each match was consisted of 3 best-of-five set matches (on clay at Roland-Garros, grass at Wimbledon and US Open hard). For the win in a match (as you understand, the score could be 2:1 or 3:0) player received 3 points. The loser - 0.
4 groups were named after their top seeds - Djokovic, Federer, Sampras and Lendl.
Djokovic group qualifiers were drawn to face Lendl group qualifiers in Quarterfinals.
Federer group qualifiers were up against Sampras group guys.
Now you can study the results.

And as the winner in my eyes would finish...Rafael Nadal!
He would hold Safin's huge game on clay, prevailing in 4. Losing to the best version of Marat in New York in 3, and escaped as a GOAT after 5-set thriller on grass.
I believe that those 4 players that reached Semifinals stage in my event - are really the best human beings to ever held a tennis racket.
Will be cool if you will write your own opinions!
