There's no such thing as "fate". It's all chance.

However, if you want to get lucky, don't tell your wife or GF that.

Prove it, =p lol, but personally i believe in fate, there are some things that are just TOO strange to be coincidence.........

You mean as in when you come together in a relationship and go beyond dating? Fate doesn't bring couples together, compatibility does. You have to feel each other out and if you two have too many flaws that would get in the way of a good relationship, you don't wind up together. Believing in destiny is nice and all, but it's just not realistic when it comes to long term relationships.

I don't believe in fate as rickson said, I believe its compatibility and your ability to recognize who you are compatable with. And its your decisions that can affect whether or not you would be together.

Even if I did believe in fate, you won't find your soul mate standing still.

I meant like meeting someone or knowing someone being fate or something happening that changes your life being fate. Not after you meet someone, like i know that for a relationship to work must require effort and dedication. Meh, i'm trying to think of a good example ............................................................................................................................................................................................. how bout: So you see this "girl/lady/women/guy/boy w/e ur preference", and you think that they look quite "pretty/hawt/secksy/cute etc...." but your too shy to talk to them, then iono maybe the next day you find that on the bus there's only one seat left and its next to them.... and then maybe you start talking and find that "you share the same interests/ they really understand you" and then maybe a few days later you find that uhhh .... iono you have the same b-day and maybe you think God is trying to tell you something? that's what i would call fate.

Everything is random. Mating, meeting people, dynamic situations, etc. These are all situations of randomness. Believe it or not, winning is also random. But being better than the other guy increases your probability rate of success in the random outcome.

In other words, YOU have the ability to INCREASE randomness to go in your favor in some particular area, be it love. There are things you can do to get that girl you always wanted. But its not "meant to be". Out of a population of 6.5 billion I believe you can be very very happy with more than just that one person. Doesn't matter who you find, if you are very happy then you will automatically "think" that she/he was the "one" for you. Which we all know is self trickery.

Nope - that's just random chance. You see hundreds of people every day - sooner or later you're bound to bump into someone you like.

:) Where and When you were born, which family etc, I'd like to say, is 'fate'. But once we are born, well we are given different quality and quantity of resources, it's upto us. Romantic sense? Like marriage? It's too big so, I like to think it's fate.

I don't know nothing about my life though.

It's coincidestiny.

in the romantic sense I think its 50%, If i get lost trying to find my friends house and I meet this lady when asking for directions, I think thats faith. But if I go out for the paper and I see the same girl walking down the street, thats coincidence

How is that "faith"? I'm not trying to knock your beliefs but how is the term "faith" related to accidentally bumping into a lady when you need directions?

lol, i was reading this and for some reason i thought *this guy's been watching too many ipod shuffle adverts*

anyways all random and probability, surely that may be so on the surface....... look at it this way, everything MAY be random and depend on probabilty, bu how do you know there isn't someone guiding that outcome? as Einstein said: "God does not play dice"

i say coincidence. there's more than one person out there who could be "the one".

also is it fate or coincidence when you lose "the one"? good question....

A creator is definitely out there. As a scientist I do believe in this creator. However I do not believe he/she/it plays a direct role in our lives. I do believe there are many other places where life can be found other than Earth.

Like I said and you guys know it. If you meet someone that you deeply fall in love with you might say it was "meant to be" or that you guys were "led" to one another. However, you would say this mostly likely regardless to "who" this person is. Rather you say it because you have fallen in love.

Are you sure that the entity you called 'I' is you, eh, The Dark Knight?

No, Tenny. The entity is actually you while you ask yourself are you posing to be The Dark Knight while he thinks he is himself. Tenny, you are really a non-entity controlled by someone who thinks of himself as an entity who posts confusing stuff on TW board. Though it never happened am I correct? :)

If you don't mind my asking...
What kind of a scientist are you?
Why do you believe there was a creator?
Why do you believe the creator still exists?
(Dare I ask, where did the creator come from?)

I'm not trying to start an arguement. Just curious as to your scientific thoughts. If you don't want to answer, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to believe whatever they can justify to themself.

not directed at me but:

A guy is walking along in the desert, he see's a rock and thinks to himself "hmm, nothing special", so he carries on walking, a while later, he see's a watch, picks it up and thinks: "wow, how did this get here? i wonder who made it?".............. now, what is the earth more similar to, a rock or a watch? (ok so the earth is really a big rock but you get what i mean), the earth is so complicated and advanced that someone had to have designed it, that would be the creator (AKA God).
