God Mode- when their games together/killer instinct and unstoppable mode where the opponent has no chance.

There will be time when players pay average/ decent or struggle to find their game but with mental strength find ways to win.

Which players male and female are your favorites to watch when they are in god mode.

Forget about stats, style, fan fare or who they are just players who you enjoy watching when everything comes together.

Peak Petra is a sight to behold....total aggressive 1 to 2 shots then a winner tennis! Sadly it goes as quickly as it comes.

On the men's side, even rarer, but when Ernest Gulbis decides to show up and concentrate it doesn't matter the ranking of the opponent. Another rarity is when Monfils is in full on entertain the crowd mode, and WINNING simultaneously.

Djokovic and Murray. I can hardly contain myself when they hit 30 or 40 consecutive topspin backhands, bait their opponent into making UE's, or whine like spoiled children when a point doesn't go their way. Check out this masterpiece of a point between the two:

Federer - best all around God Mode. He was blowing away opponents from all angles, with all types of shots FOR A WHILE. His best shots compilation is unrivaled.
Del Potro - best forehand of all time in terms of generating pace imo (Fernando Gonzalez up there too). Moves like a manly pony with a sledgehammer instead of hooves.
Wawrinka - especially love his bludgeoning backhand when he is ON. Serve and forehand are beast too, but man that backhand is so sweet

I like guys who go for winners so the above three players in their God Mode provide plenty of highlights for me, I just love watching them blast winners. I also enjoyed how Verdasco played in 2009 Australian Open, I thought he was very enjoyable and very brave.

Sampras, Federer and Agassi. Wawa gets an honorable mention.
So wish we could somehow restore Pete to prime condition. His matches against Fed and Djokovic would be amazing.

Uhmmm I guess anyone in God mode would be fun to watch as that means they're producing awesome tennis. Federer, Nalbandian, Safin, Wawrinka, Del Potro and Gonzalez are all amazing to watch at their best. Federer and Nalbandian for their beautiful, varied and all-court game, Safin and Wawrinka for their stunning baseline power-tennis from both wings that seemingly never breaks down despite the risk, and Del Potro for his amazing fast and Gonzalez for his even more ridiculously amazing forehand. As already mentioned, when Tsonga hit absolute God-mode in his semi against Rafa at the AO'08, it was just a sight to behold.

I'm pretty sure God-mode Sampras must have been amazing as well.

On the women's side, Serena and Venus, Kvitova, Henin and Clijsters for fairly recent examples. Mauresmo's God mode was beautiful too, she really has an all-court game that was fantastic to watch especially in much of 2006. That said, there are very few current female players who seem to have a God mode. Could you imagine someone like Wozniacki entering something called a God mode? What does that even entail, her being able to finish off forehand sitters for once?

Basically, it comes down to offensive and aggressive players. Their God modes are naturally the most fun as their shotmaking would be in full flight. Djokovic and Rafa playing in God mode are very impressive too, but it's different since they aren't the kind of players that will smash winners all over the place. Djokovic had a God mode match against Ferrer once, and that was amazing to watch as well. Rafa was basically his own kind of God mode in spring/summer 2008, but it's not the typical shotmaking kind that stands out among the others I've mentioned.

Did people enjoy watching Marin Cilic in god mode or Marion Batoli in god mode. There are certain players that people don't like watching regardless if they are in god mode or not.

Caroline came close when she beat Sharapova last year at US Open and she has a game where she can hang with Serena especially in the rallies.

Yes? What wasn't enjoyable about it? The fact that Fed didn't win his 18th slam? I remember being pretty amazed by Cilic's play despite favouring Fed. Also, yeah, I'll give you Bartoli, but that's more my personal thing because I don't like Bartoli, and again, WTA player who rarely if ever enters God mode for an entire match.

Yeah Caroline has good matches where she defends well and hangs tough but if we call every good match God mode there is no point. Wozniacki will never be a player who sprays with winners, which I think is pretty essential for a term called God mode. She played a great match against Sharapova then, but God mode is a bit too strong of a term I'd say.

Only two directly came to mind:

Federer amd Nalbandian, these are the ones that stand out for me. I've been watching tennis since 1985 (I was 5) or so and I cannot remember being as impressed with anyone's god mode like I was with the god mode of Federer and Nalbandian.

Reading a couple of good names here too:

Davydenko, Safin, Rios, very fun to watch. Stich was incredible when he won Wimbledon. Very impressive god modes too.

One of the best matches ever played. Criminally underrated.

For the ladies: Davenport (that Sharapova double bagel is forever in my mind), Serena (though she doesn't show much of it these days), Seles, and Pierce. For the men: Del Potro, Federer, Nadal, Rios (most talented ever), Sampras, and Safin.
