Favorite radical?

So I was going through a lot of changes, switching rackets and strings pretty often. Then I went back to my old radicals. So far I have the 260, zebra, ti, intelligence, and flexpoint. I’m loving the old school classic feel. So out of curiosity I wanted to know which radical is your favorite and with what set up? Cheers!

I’ve got 95 and 98 Radical Twintubes 630s but never hit a Bumblebee (Trisys), keen to see if this is the best! I’ve got a few tiRad MPs but these are not in the same league as the TTs and I don’t think iRad MPs are either, although I’ve never owned one.

YouTek Rads seem to be popular!

Where is the Radical Tour 260 MP and Radical Tour TwinTube 630?

Okay, you got me!

I must admit back in the days I sold my nice playing Radical Tour's to buy some nice looking Wilson's. I excluded this shameful fact from my consciousness. This is such a blessing we people can have such a great defence mechanism called repression.

But, to be serious – they were my first non-wooden racquets and I simply don't remeber how they played. I had no comparison at that time and haven't played with them since then long enough. Just couple of minutes. Bought one some time ago, but still didn't manage to string it.

I know that they have all "Radical" in their names – however it would be more appropriate to put them along Pro Tour 630 in the Prestige MP line – which I do find superior to most of retail and even prostocks Radicals. Both feel- and precision-wise.

I'm gonna fly solo here and say microgel radical pro. very comfortable, stable tweener with good spin production and stability. it feels like what the prince graphite 100 should have been. if they made the radical pro in a longbody I'd have been in heaven. 12 ounces. 100 head, 20 mm straight beam. 16x19 pattern. 330-335 swingweight. 64 flex. that folks is heaven

Dangit... my "Limited Edition" Radicals clock in at: 12.1 ounces, 107 head, 21 mm straight beam, 18x19 pattern, 338 swingweight, 63 flex, so I just miss the mark. Alas.

Of the Radicals I've hit with, the Zebra was my favorite.

Should the PT280/630 qualify as Radicals?? Part of the PT57 legacy, yes, but Radicals such as the Rad TwinTube 630s are PT57B not PT57A.

I really can understand Microgel Radical prostock. It is easy, flexy and powerful. Like Blade v7 in 95" with better control ;)
However – It is so hard to get 231.3! Also Microgel has much better torsional stability from 260 mold. Unfortunatelt

Is the current offering of stiffer Microgel in TW similar to 231.2 prostock?

I really like Radical Tour 630 without TwinTube – but also like Liquidmetal Radical MP. It is stiff but TwinTube make it feel better and it's the most Prestige-like.
At least I find it that way.

I have never tried the current Microgel in TW... cannot compare.
In general, i was somehow really trying hard to make a list with my preferences, but if I am honest, I like them all quite a lot. These Radicals are very nice, in some I like more the specs, in others the feel etc. Awesome line until it was really changed.

Flexpoint Radical Tour... not only the best Radical ever made (and I own like 8 versions) but also one of the best Head rackets produced since the PT630. I would also venture out on a limb to call it one of their best ever, but thats because I have hit with most every Head players frame and NOTHING sends the ball back in a hurry with this much control and spin.

These are some great specs that few rackets have nowadays

325g unstrug
58RA flex!!
16x19
~100sq in.
7pts HL
21mm beam

This thing is an absolute BALL CRUSHER and hits some of the scariest shots imaginable. Dwell time feels like forever. If you can control it at lower tensions, you will simply take the racket out of your opponent's hands. Its that good! Try it and you will be thankful :)

I was just wondering – do you have any idea what was the original unstrung weight and the balance of both Radical Tour 630 and Pro Tour 630? Where they supposed to be 320g and 310mm like all of the following Prestige MP rackets?

Didn’t he use the Bumblebee OS for the vast majority of his career whilst with Head?
Yes, Agassi used the original Bumblebee Radical Tour Oversize in 20x21 and then 18x19 during his time with Head. With a couple of experiments with Prestige Classic 660 at the 2003 US Open the LM Instinct during the clay court swing in 2005.

In bold are the Rad OS's I have and my favorites are the Bumble Bee and the IG Youtek. The LM is fine, muted and IMHO very similar to the current retail MG that sells for 90.00.

Trysis 260 Bumble Bee 12.10oz
Twin Tube Rad Tour 690 RA 60 Zebra
Radical Tour 690 Candy Cane RA 58
Agassi Ltd Ed 12.10 RA 63
Rad Tour OS XL 12.20 RA 53 28”
Rad OS Ltd 12.0 RA 64
Ti Rad 10.8 60
iRad 11.0 RA 62
LM 11.2 RA 58
Flexpoint 11.3 58
Youtek 11.10 RA 56
Youtek IG 11.10 58
Microgel 11.10 56

I've only hit a few radicals over the years... here's how I rank them:

1. The highlighter/road-flare Radical pro 2021...needed a few small tweaks in the form of silicone and lead at 12 (340g/32cm balance), but what a racquet so far.
2. twin tube zebra radical tour mp. Mushrod-ramrod ball crusher. Just too heavy for me to play matches in the modern game. Was around 371 grams with a leather grip and OG.
3. ti radical mp (required leather and lead) deadly accurate with a super plush feel.
4. Graphene 360 radical mp and pro...does not even deserve to be in this list. I'm not sure what happened with this generation, but they pooped the bed with this one.
