For alt/indie Butthole Surfers, Modest Mouse, and Sonic Youth. If you want some lighter stuff Gomez, The Killers, or Muse. For more experimental music go with Mars Volta. Radiohead is another good one, if you want alot rock go with their first 2 albums, if you want somethin a bit different and more towards electronic go with their newer stuff. Also based on the bands you named try out the bands The Rasmus or Sparta too.

PHS, see you took my Fall Out Boy recommendation.......rocking....so more good stuff you should have a look at

If you like the Emo Punk kinda sound
Motion City Soundtrack
The Early Novmeber
The Movielife
Matchbook Romance
Count The Stars
From First To Last
Hidden In Plain Veiw
Saves The Day
The Starting Line
If you feel like more stuff, check out pretty much any band on Drive Thru Records, its a sweet label

If you like Coheed and Cambria two bands you need to hear

My Chemical Romance and Brazil

If you are into the whole accoustic emo rock Dashboard Confessional kinda thing Copeland is good

Saves The Day, The Starting Line, and Dashboard Confessional are awesome! Lots of albums to choose from now, I was going to buy The Killers but I got Coheed and Cambria... they rock!

saw Co and Ca live with funeral for a friend, rainer maria and brazil......it was like a five hour show between the four bands, in this small club, maybe a thousand people......needless to say it ruled

the anniversary/rilo kiley for indie pop

get up kids for indie rock/emo

saves the day...couldn't agree more with you guys on that one

the faint/postal service for electronica indie rock, the faint is edgier than postal service

the new amsterdams for acoustic indie rock

the strokes/hives

the cure, they may have their roots from the 80's, but they are still amoung the best in terms of excellent pop rock

Agree with Yrocks on Sublime and Pepper. My wife and I are surfers (she's top 3 in our state) and dig all the surf culture stuff:
Donavon F./Jack Johnson/Sack Lunch (old school Rob Machado)/J Swift/Mason Jennings (the man!!)/Ben Harper/Pennywise/G Love/
White Buffalo. Also really dig Big Head Todd (way underrated)/Bonepony/Indigenous/Paul Westerberg. It's all good. Grateful Dead/OAR/Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies. Rarely hear stuff I hate. Pretty open to tunes.

Hey Yonex, I've been jamming to Pat M for over 10 years. I grew up and went to undergrad in VA (Pat is from northern VA) and probably saw them 20 times during college. Some other great VA bands that were just getting their groove on in the early to mid 90's were Agents of Good Roots, Everything, BabyFat, Jimmie's Chicken Shack (from Maryland actually but played a lot in VA) and of course, Dave Matthews Band. Twas a great time to be in college.
