Picture is a reflection in a mirror. That is my left arm
Damn Jolly, youre jacked my man!
Damn skippy. Not allowed to wear sleeveless until my gun permit comes in the mail!
Hey man, what do you do in the gym? I just started lifting since I'm finally healthy (no more injuries!)
Eh, I suspect there is a generational difference at work here. If you first saw Agassi in 2001, then I'm guessing you didn't grow up watching him at the time of those outfits. I think people are fond of the things that were popular when they first got interested in whatever they're interested in. I grew up watching Agassi in those earlier years and started to really become interested in tennis then. Let me clarify a little, too. I don't necessarily think that retro Agassi gear would outsell the Nadal and Fed stuff, but I think it would have it's market. Maybe I'm it. Ha ha. Did I say before that I thought it would outsell the current stuff? If I did, I amend that statement. The mullet, though... yeah, that was pretty bad. Even for then.
Yeah, I like those. Also seems like the last time Fed had a good shirt.
I definitely didn't grow up watching him. I didn't even know, who he was until the end of his career and I never actually saw a live Pete Sampras match.
That's why I was so surprised to see that Andre, had the long mullet back in the late 80s early 90s. I was used to seeing him as a bald guy, with no earings or flashy colors.
I would have liked to have seen him play during his younger days but for me it just wouldn't have been possible to have done it.
That's why there's You Tube.
I agree, with you though, about people being into the things, that were popular when they first got into tennis. I still like Rafa's pirate look and that was brand new when I first started watching pro tennis.
Muscle suit biceps FTW!
My favourite shirt ever! The Jimmy Connors Cerruti 1881 shirt.
Does anyone have some good pics of this shirt?
I can't find any decent ones,
Yes. This one. And the white / blue one like it. I need a white/blue one, XXL, I have the black.
This is what I'm talkin about. I need a white one, XXL
Wilander's 1988 Sergio Tacchini shirts were amazing.
Wilander's 1988 Sergio Tacchini shirts were amazing.
I had this white Le Coq Sportif shirt back in the day, wore it constantly, it was so thin, it'd been washed so much, but was a classic.
No love for Sampras's plain white classics between 95 to 99 ... i wish these are back
Oh man this Adidas shirt rocked, another one that I wore till it fell off my back.
Used to have this shirt as well, but I still have the racket bag and big duffel bag from this line. They should bring back these great designs.
obviously this is the winner!
nothing like 80's huge **** stain shirt!!
Federer 2011 French Open polo
I think that was an attempt to look like a red clay stain, like after he fell down on his back on the clay after winning the French Open, no??
I also love Tsonga's from the AO2008
LOL. I always laugh every time I see a random dude wearing these capris.
The "Terrinda" line was indeed fantastic and astronomically expensive for its time.
Also, the old Vilas shirt was fantastic too.
Guys, resize your images...
That one was from well into the 90s and probably from the worst era of Nike tennis wear ever imo. It was on par for utter heinousness by these (the second one in particular - Agassi and McEnroe wore it when playing doubles at the 92 French Open... so so ugly):
I finally found a halfway decent picture of my contribution at the start of the thread - 2006 Fed Wimbledon - that shows the venting on the back:
Federer 2009 AO Polo
Loved Wilander's ST and Edberg's Adidas.
One of the GSOAT is one the large auction site at the moment. An early Challenge Court polo...
I haven't seen one for sale for a couple of years... pretty pricey though.
Could Agassi look more ridiculous? I will NEVER forgive Nike for those denim shorts. They ruined tennis clothes for all eternity.
This was my favourite during my younger days... I really wished Nike could do a modern update of these again.
Especially if they updated the shoes as well to carry current technology.
My favorite is McEnroe's 1984 Sergio Tachinni shirt with the navy blue shoulders and the rest white. That is one badass shirt. I also say a close second is Lendl's shirt from that time too.
I still have one of these in blue!
These 2 shirts are amazing.
Oh, brother. We get it. You hate Nike.
As opposed to your German, boring, 3 stripe team, Nike swings for the fences. Sometimes they hit homers, other times they strike out. More hits than misses; as opposed to your team.
i swear that guys like ljubicic and gaudio wore this shirt for like 5 years straight classic in my head
Classiest sweater of all time
Great call. What a cool shirt. The best crew neck I've ever had.
Scotland's national soccer/football jersey was a version of that very shirt.
That shirt is from the mid 90's. Nothing in the 80's looked that bad.
Love the old Lendl designs. I picked up one of these in orange and white not long ago.....reminded me of them. Don't like them as much as Ivan's, but still.....
Some from my collection and personal favourites. As with the whole 2005 line:
I don't remember what year this was, but I loved this shirt in all the colors Nike offered. I had teh chance to pick up a few, but was not able to make it out to the store before they were sold out in my size back then. Any idea where I can get one now?
This was the 05 line. I have that same crew but in white.
Very difficult to get now. I picked mine up on the Bay back in April. That's about the only place you can find them now or if you ask in the Wanted forums here. There's also a white one with green and blue stripes.
