I already have so many strings in my box to test out, but seeing all these great reviews makes me want to test some of these smaller brands, (I didn't include ProsPro just because I don't have access to it). I know there are already individual threads on each brand, but curious to hear from those that have tried a few of these, which one makes a quality string comparable to the bigger brands?

I have not tried Mayami or Toroline. But very impressed with TierOne in terms of quality and variety of string, and well as great customer service and consumer-friendly pricing. I think pretty much any level and style of player can find a string in their lineup that will work for their game.

Never tried Grapplesnake or Toroline but the other two are very underrated.

One brand I'm interested in is Polyfibre.
I got some Polyfibre black venom rough 16L which was supposed to be a better softer version of rpm rough. Felt nice but didn’t last as long as I was hoping. Any chance you have some tour hex 1.23 and wanna trade?

Tier1 Black Night is the best string they make. Truly does everything well and has consistency. Toroline Cavier an excellent control string that brings some comfortable firmness to the stringed and high marks for tension maintenance. Mayami Tour Hex comfortable, pockets nicely, touch, control and just confidence inspiring, my string of choice.

I second both of these

My list:
1. (tie) Mayami
Big Spin, Magic Twist, Tour Hex, Perfection (not yet released multi)

1. (tie) Tier One
Black Knight, Strike Force RIP, Tour Status

2. Grapplesnake

3. Toroline

I'm demoing Toroline strings in a couple of frames over the next couple of weeks. I have a feeling that they are going to move up on my list and plan to order more Caviar to fiddle with. Like, T1 and Mayami, I like their customer service and responsiveness to email. Before Mayami came along, I was a solid T1 guy. Firewire was on my list, but Big Spin and its twisted shape replaced it in my triangle shaped string setups. I tried three Grapplesnake strings, but they really didn't do anything better and I couldn't find a setup at the time to compliment their strengths. After playing with Big Spin/4G setup the last couple of weeks, I may try Cube again to see how it pairs with Big Spin.

Need to try some Grapplesnake and Mayami strings. And the only TierOne (Tru Pro) and Toroling strings I've tried is a hybrid of Toroling Wasabi green mains and T1 GW white crosses. I def recommend this combo. It's crisp, lively, good spin, very slick, and enough comfort for a somewhat sensitive arm. And it looks cool in a Blade 98!

Mayami could be good, however they have their best string, Tour Hex, out of stock for about two months in Europe which essentially makes them unreliable to invest time and stick with a string of theirs.
I subscribed in their email and get news that as they make new company in Poland (before was in Ukraine) and make new warehouse and their new EU website and strings will be in june. Now they have only former distributor in Slovakia and he sell now rest of stock. In their country war about 1,5 year and of course they need time for changes

Isospeed is great (and very cheap to get in Europe).

Haven't tried anything from tierone, grapplesnake or toroline though, so just giving an extra option.

Lets keep this company alive, they deserve it

+1 for Tier One. Love using Ghostwire as a cross to soften up a stringbed. Black knight and firewire are excellent. I have liked BK for a while. I only recently put Fw in my racquet, but am loving the spin, pocketing, and overall touch and feel.

@Znak I'd like to put some more brands into the discussion: Dyreex, L-Tec Premium, Stringlab Italia, String Kong, Oehms, Topspin, Base12

* I've played both Tier One and Mayami. Tier One Ghost Wire and Black Knight and Mayami Magic Twist and Hit Pro

I will play more Tier One and Mayami strings in the near future.

Dyreex: has several budget-friendly strings. I liked most the: First Round, Cube Max, Cube Flash, Super Tour Soft and I'll try the Super Tour which according to some, it is a Luxilon 4G competitor.

L-Tec Premium: has a higher price tag, Celeste is in my top-5, we can expect 2 new strings in June: the Meteor Pro and the Pearl

Stringlab Italia has some of their strings developed by pro-to-one lab and made in Germany. Most favorites so far: the Orbitour Gold and Silver. Both super good on the Diadem Elevate V2 and in my top-10!

String Kong: has a string called Banana Bite that's something between Mayami Magic Twist, Solinco Hyper G - mute, comfortable, spin-friendly, the ball will not sail long! And Orango Raw 1.28 was slick and spin-friendly.

Oehms: used to make and maybe still makes Head leather base grips. Has 2 interesting strings: the Alu Pearl Rough and Sonic Speed. The Alu Pearl Rough is in my top-5 also. I have to re-play the Sonic Speed because the first time I played it, maybe the stringjob was done poorly, no feedback at all...

Topspin: Cyber Flash - I currently have it on both Diadem Elevate V2 and V3 - a very solid typical control-oriented round-shaped string. They also have some stiff and softer options.

Base12: made in Germany, very new small brand. Budget friendly, have only 2 strings released for now. I've played the green/yellow Alpha 1.28.

Which string should you try from the above mentioned companies if you are looking for the following characteristics (priority descending)?
1. control
2. spin
3. soft
4. not round, but not very sharp edges either.
5. ability to snap back
6. durability

Are you looking for 1 string for all of your characteristics or different strings for each one?
