I am giving about equal chance to both players, but a slight tilt to Federer due to experience and the fact that Marin has been making errors in the last two rounds and went to five and four sets, whereas both should have been straight set affairs.

I dunno. For some reason the AO felt bigger, and I can't quite explain why. Maybe it was the Fedal resurgence and the unexpected nature of the final. Hadn't felt so invested in a match in years, so much so that I feel my ability to continue to be invested in matches is drained somewhat.

I agree. I'd add to that the epic 5-set-dramaturgy of that final, a full length feature, culminating in a last set turnaround that broke the previous Fedal-final-script.
