Fed ends Djokovics slam run at the semifinals of Wimbledon in a 5 set thriller, loses to Zverev in 4 sets in the final, or...

Fed battles past Zverev in 4 sets, but loses to Djokovic in the final in 5 sets?

Federer has done just about everything since the beginning of 2017, which includes a .900 pct for season, a slam title, beating Nadal a couple of times in a season(including a slam final), winning Wimbledon without dropping a set, and reaching world #1. I.e, I am extremely happy with what Fed has done. He's exceeded my expectations by a lot. But if we're getting greedy, then there's one thing that Fed hasn't done. He hasn't beaten Djokovic. A win over Djokovic would be massive accomplishment at this stage of his career.

At this stage, I'd almost rather Federer beat Djokovic in a slam than win another slam title. Beating Djokovic is the ultimate test these days.

As Fedfan I would choose final loss vs Djokovic. I have huge respect to Djokovic as sportsman and as person in general.(even though, he has his flies. Who doesn't?)

Zverev OTOH, is kind of arrogant(not necessarily intentionally)), more like inexperienced.

Still, I prefer loss against legend of not only tennis, but sport in general rather than brat.

I think if I watch Federer lose another extremely close match to Djokovic again, at Wimbledon of all tournaments, my emotional stability will be at serious risk. I like their matchup and the tension of it a lot, but 5 sets mental rollercoasters are only fun if you don't end up crashing at the end. Federer vs Djokovic close matches tend to go one way and this drama is a bit tiring at this point for me as a Federer fan.

I'm fine with Zverev as a person or player, though don't particularly enjoy his game I'm not averse to the idea of him further maturing and making progress on the biggest stages. A strong contender who won't be retiring in the next couple of years is very welcome in tennis. Plus his winning speech/stand-up show could be a nice disruption to Wimbledon's overdone solemnity. Yeah, Federer losing to Zverev is the lesser of two evils for me.

Fed beats Novak in the Semi.. Mischa beats Fed in the final.. A SnVer wins Wimbley.
Young players get inspired by it and implement SnV in their matches especially on Grass.
Win win for everybody.
2nd scenario. Anybody but Zverev. Especially when it's Fed or Djoker.

So we're just assuming Novak is winning the French? Either way, give me that win over Novak in any circumstance.

Getting to level the H2H at SW19, stopping him from gaining on Fed's tally and end the streak of slam wins vs Fed dating back to 2014? No brainer.

I'm having a hard time imagining Zverev reaching semis or finals of any major yet alone winning by def. Djokovic or Federer. If we add grass to all of that ... well, it seems like a mission impossible.

Sorry, I hope Zverev will prove me wrong soon rather then later. This is not happening at SW17. RG would be more likely but, but ...

I don't think it's happening for anyone at SW17. ;)
