Fed fans, who will you support once Fed retires?

Will it be one of the other top 4?

Will it be someone like Tsonga or Delpo who hasn't maximized their potential yet?

Or will it be one of the new kids on the block like Raonic?

Or perhaps right now there is no one that inspires you so you will support no one until the next star comes along?

PS - The assumption I'm going to make is that Rafa/Nole/Murray retire after Fed, although there is a chance Fed keeps playing till he's 35!

I could see myself becoming a Tomic fan after Rogi hangs 'em up. I was a huge Hewitt fan, especially when he was a young, brash ***** of a player, so this isn't a huge stretch for me.

It will be a sad time when Federer retires. Really no young guy seems to bring what Federer brought. I like the creative players like Dolgopolov and Tomic and to an extent Murray, as long as they attack rather than defend (which Murray does too much for my liking)

Hahahaha nah, not because of that. I think he's a pretty clean ballstriker and I love his on-court attitude. No messing around, no nonsense, just business. And he always takes the fight to his opponent. That's what I love about Ferrer.

It certainly would mean a downgrade of my viewing hours, but tennis is too beautiful to say goodbye forever, though I hope something happens to change the way the game is progressing now.

That's the question I've been asking myself for the last couple of years...

Dolgo and Tomic are definitely fun to watch but that doesn't mean I'll rot for them the same way I root for Roger. I'm a "classic style" kinda guy so...whoever it is he'll have to have a 1HBH
I was hoping Dimitrov would do something but he's way, way off right now, so...

Yeah, I guess it depends a lot on how you relate to him. For me, he made me love tennis, and made me want to improve myself in the sport to try to be like him. He made watching tennis in this day an absolute pleasure. That's why I'll miss him a lot.

I think he'll go out in a big way. Any other way wouldn't be Federer's style.

Once he retires, I'm sure the youtube highlighters will flock to the Champions tour. There we'll see the likes of fed-gonzo-santoro-safin-moya-kuerten-(probably Davydenko). So I'm not too bummed.

I've supported Djokovic and Delpo since first seeing them pretty much, but even they will retire in another 5-6 years so also looking out for new players, I think Tomic is good but I don't really like him, Dolgo i like and also Raonic and harrison is ok

I'm already a fan of a number of others such as: Tomic, Dolgopolov, Tsonga, Del Potro. In general, I'm also keen on monitoring the progress of all the young guns because I find the generation very interesting.

I don't like where Murray is headed physically. His movement looks so jarring and inefficient to me and I don't see his body lasting long at all. I don't think his joints and such are made out of the sterner stuff that Nole's and Nadal's are.

Although I have been following tennis for roughly 10 years, it wasn't Federer or any particular player who got me into it.

Love the sport, love playing it, but unfortunately it will be very difficult to find the game as pleasing to watch on TV as it is with Federer now. I could appreciate nearly any playing style before becoming a fan of Fed. It has become a hard task now.

Federer's tennis is spoiling to its fans. Once you get too much into it you feel like playing any other way just feels wrong.

I think I will be supporting Djokovic, Del Potro, Dimitrov, Lacko, Nishikori and Harrison (if he develops an attacking game) in varying degrees by the time Fed goes. And of course, always open to the talent of the newcomers that may arise.

Edit: forgot to include Del Potro somehow.

Del po because he's Del po, Nadal and Djoko to have some epics, but fall short of 16 big ones

To be honest I have no idea. I support Murray but I suspect he won't play long enough for him to still be around that much longer after Fed retires, so I'm hoping someone comes along who just catches my eye the same way Fed did years ago.

Nothing will ever match Fed for me though, he was the first sportsman I was ever a fan of. It was unfortunate that I didn't become a fan of the sport until I was 15, but at the same time it coincided with his coming of age by winning his first Wimbledon, and I know there can never be another "first time" again.

Saying that I do like Del Potro and Dolgopolov too, so maybe there wil be someone left to fill that void.
