Fed needs to develop a left handed forehand to beat Rafa.

In the spirit of coming up with realistic ideas on how Federer can beat Nadal read on;

Feds forehand is awesome. But the one drawback of any right handed forehand is that they cannot defend against left handed opponents who hit to their backhands.

Nadal exposed this weakness by relentlessly hitting hight topspin shots to Feds one handed backhand. Fed tried to counter by running around his backhand as much as possible but it just didnt work.

If fed developed a left handed forehand I think Nadal would be in some very deep trouble....even on clay.

He should also yell 'vamos' when he wins a big point instead of 'come on', that would really psyche Rafa out.

Good call and he could add the element of surprise on the serve too, if he could serve both lefty and righty.

Indeed, a la Dual Hand Luke Lenson. Great idea. He could learn to serve lefty very easily. Almost as easily as him learning a two handed backhand which everyone knows could happen in a very short time.

Excellent suggestion. One without the other would probably fail. The question is could he learn how to yell vamos well enough in time before his career was over? It's not as if it would take as little time to learn as developing a two handed backhand.

you need a brain surgery...LOL:p

^^ Is it possible he is using a left handed racquet now or is it a paintjob of one? Anyone have pictures.

As you can tell it didn't take.

I only wish I could get an infusion of Attila the tennis Bum's knowledge so I would know what I am talking about on these boards.

How about if he "hybrids" a racquet??? > Joins two racquets together with duct tape? A racquet for right handers and another for left handers?

I think he should study Santoro & develop a dble handed grip on both sides. This way, high bounding, low bounding, forehand or backhand, he gets them all. Rafa wouldn't know where to hit anymore.

Oh and, he should hit his serve dble handed too. More power, more accuracy, more bite, more everything.

I just noticed this thread only has 2 stars, barely ahead of "Fed should develop a 2HBH".
Granted that thread is has a great idea that would be a snap to accomplish, but doesn't this one deserve more stars for originality?

So take a second and vote (5) to show that this thread deserves more accolades.

Wouldn't that be banned? You know, with the dual strings?
What about hitting with a home made spanish guitar, with a 7x6 string pattern? Imagine the spin on his lefty forehand!!

I think you are on to something there. I bet your friends with Attila and copied that idea from him, as it sounds like his type of thought pattern. ;)

he should use a racquet that weighs 9 oz., hit the weight room and jack himself up, grow his hair out EVEN LONGER WOO! WEAR SLEEVLESS SHIRTS...then change his name to rafael federer. WOOOOO!

Oh, come on! We all know that the key to beating Nadal at the French are the clamdigger capri pants and the sleeveless shirts! If Federer showed up in the final wearing exactly the same Nike outfit as Nadal, it would freak him out and he would mentally crumble right away, allowing Federer to win in straight sets!! ;) LOL

I guess I've been to agreeable to keep this thread going. I should be more like Attila and passionately insist how easy and logical it would be for Federer to make a change like this to beat Nadal?

I find it funny how Eviscerator continually makes himself look like an ass in this thread. Funny for a second, then all the subtlety was gone, along with the humor. Great job:rolleyes:

Wow, that is a little too personal, don't you think? My parody thread is in fun since I could no longer bring myself to post logically in the other one. However, even if I have run this one into the ground in your opinion, calling me an *** over it only reflects poorly on you.

Well BP, that alone won't do. He has to wear that dress and ALSO needs to consistently pick his ***

In all seriousness, if Federer were to imitate Nadal in dress and his weird habits it might get into Nadals head, at least for a period of time. However in a real match Federer would have too much class to resort to those tactics.
