Fed practised with girlfriend before IW final

Talk about an in your face. As there were no players left to warm up with prior to the Final, Fed warmed up with his girlfriend, at least her toes seemed to be OK. I wonder if she gives him a tougher test than Hewitt?

Wow, that's awesome. I wish I would have seen that. I thought maybe she would pick up a racquet and hit with him at the masters in Houston. Instead I saw him play a practice game with Coria which I caught on my digital camcorder.

Well, she's often described as "a former touring pro," so it's not like she's some amateur hitter or something. Besides, the guy's got the midas touch when it comes to his tennis, so why shouldn't this work too? She's pretty much his manager these days, does all his arranging, etc. Almost hate to see a young guy at the top of his game get all committed to one person and disavow ****dogging at his age, but it's probably what keeps him so focused ...

yeah, they practice certain movements, penetration strategies, strokes. who knows, maybe fed even practices with a woodie.

Fed has a history of "hitting" with Mirka before big events. He has said before it brings him good luck.

And it does seem to be working.

That's cute. Mirka's birthday is coming up....April 1st. I wonder if he'll win Miami for her.

How do you happen to know this? Were you at IW and saw them? I know she's his backup warmer-upper. But for a final against Hewitt. Too good.
