you don't know what the weather will be like!

what we do know is that Prince Vegeta won't be able to close the roof if its not raining this year!

Yeah, the roof has been Rafa's problem in Wimbledon for almoat a decade now. And why are people even building roofs? We all know tennis is best played when the sun is in your eyes, the wind carries the ball, and the surface is worn down because of the weather!

Yes we do

https://www.holiday-weather.com/wimbledon/forecast/

Low to mid 20s with showers throughout the tournament. There are a couple of warm days next week but it’s been raining consistently for weeks beforehand.

Sorry, but the bounce won’t be high and the speed won’t be slow this year. Rafa will also have to go through both Djokovic and Federer (by seeding) if he wants to win it haha

Last year was his chance and he blew it.

its called being an outdoor sport!

just because you're stuck in the house all the time doesn't mean our sporting events should follow suit!

Excellent news for Nadal. Now he can face Federer in another Slam final (provided that Nadal defeats Djokovic in the SF).

Provided he and Djokovic and Federer make it that far

Never count on anything until it is done. Nadal with an overall poor record at Wimbledon since 2011, Federer only one slam semi in the past 4 slams, Djokovic looking inconsistent since Australia, none are assured being in the semis/finals, particularly Nadal depending on his draw

Happy he’s got 2nd seeding but sad i won’t get to see him on opening day. That means he definitely plays 2nd day. Now to see if Rafa lands on his side of the draw or Novak’s.

You sound very confident about Nadal's chances, Sport.

The Nadal camp have nothing to lose at Wimbledon. It will be fun to see how far he progresses this year. He has been preparing for Wimbledon with intense grass court practices at Mallorca Open. He is very keen to do well at Wimbledon again.

The top 2 favourites clearly are Djokovic and Federer for Wimbledon. Still, with some luck, Nadal will be a big threat for them too.

riiiight,

forecast are always 100% correct.

just worry about your guy!

i keep forgetting who is your guy, because you behave like a Tennis Vegeta fan, but you claim to be Federer fan.

What I am getting from this is Rafa can't win in perfect playing conditions. You'd understand that if you ever held one of those things that look like butterfly nets aka a racket!
'perfect' is subjective, going easy.

try and comprehend that.

A “challenger” in which he beat Tsonga, RBA, Goffin. All top 10 standard players. I wonder sometimes if that poster is a parody account.
In matter of weeks goffin becomes top10 pedigree from a challenger level opponent. What were fed fans views when nadal drew goffin in rg. And moreover goffin is better on clay than he is on grass. Such hypocrisy

In a perfect world they wouldnt need a roof but sadly it rains a lot and we all remember how Nsdal refused to play in the rain at RG 2012 when it was giving Djokovic the edge....

Tennis moved on from being grass dominated to being HC dominated and maybe it's time to move on and have it as an indoor sport. It was LAWN tennis but has virtually gotten rid of grass so why is a roof so objectionable? It's a fallacy that Nadal cant play indoors. It's also a truer test of skill indoors. Less based on luck (just like HC is less down to bad bounces than grass and clay)

has this been confirmed?

anyway, even if Nadal were seeded 2nd, there was still a 50% chance he would have to face Federer and Djokovic; so it was certainly worth him taking a break to rest his body.

also, Federer obviously chose the opposite strategy; playing alot this year before Wimbledon hoping to do better than last year - when he was well rested.

But, thats has its risks too, he looked physically 'strained' or suffering to me at Halle. so he may have played too much tennis to be physically ready.

anyway, we'll see...
Physically strained? lol

During his one hour routine SF or while breadsticking Goffin on his way to 102/10/2?

Dude, it was hot leading up to Wimbledon last year and the courts were dried out weeks before.

This year has been the complete opposite. I’m not basing that on future weather, I’m basing that on the past month of weather.

Petty insults won’t change that.

Federer isn't even reaching the semi finals so I am not worried... Just hoping Nadal and Djokovic are on the opposite sides of the draw

Fun fact: Everytime Federer has won Halle (bar 2013), he’s progressed to the final of Wimbledon.

Where is the thread with calculation.

Fed has secured #2 seed at wimbledon with this win, everyone is saying.
But as i calculated, even with runner up at halle he gets No. 2 seed at wimbledon

I comprehend completely that you never played tennis or understand the difference between indoor and outdoor. Btw, do you live in a house or on a meadow? But please tell me how outdoor tennis provides better conditions than indoor. I am all ears.

Yeah it was an absolute scorcher this time last year. Weather definitely hasn't been anywhere near as nice so far this summer.

The formula is
- Take the ATP Ranking points at 24 June 2019
- Add 100% of the points earned for all grass court tournaments in the immediate past 12 months period prior to 24 June 2019
- Add 75% of the points earned for the best grass court tournament in the 12 months prior to that

Federer (After Winning Halle)
ATP - 6620
Last 12 M - 860 (halle 19 + wimbledon 18)
Last 12-24 M - (0.75) X (2550) ( halle 18 + stutgart 18 + wimbledon 17) = 1912.5

Total = 9392.5 seeding points

Nadal
ATP - 7945
Last 12 M - 720 (wimbledon 18)
Last 12-24 M - (0.75) X 180 (wimbledon 17) = 135

Total = 8800 seeding points

Had Federer lost Halle final
ATP - 6420
Last 12 M - 660 (halle 19 + wimbledon 18)
Last 12-24 M - (0.75) X (2550) ( halle 18 + stutgart 18 + wimbledon 17) = 1912.5

Total = 8992.5 seeding points

Still would have been greater than Nadal's points

Yeah, nice when you have your own private Challenger level grass ATP 500 for racking up some cheap ATP points isn't it.

Anyway, you can bet your houses now, that they will put Nadal and Djokovic in the same side of the draw. So congrats to another Fed Wimbledon cupcake, i guess.

The mind boggles as to what were the reasons for being in the match thread of such an irrelevant event.

Anyway, why did you disappear after the first set of the match?

Wrong. Only get 75% of the BEST 12-24 month grass result. So only 1,500 for Wimbledon ‘17 and nothing for Halle/Stuttgart ‘18. So he needed to win Halle to pass Nadal.

Off topic, but when dealing with seeding, why does it not help Lopez? The guys has won Queens recently and is in the final today (might win), yet he has to get a wildcard to get in?

you obviously understand nothing, let alone history.

I suggest you look up what kind of tournaments the slams are! none are indoor!

so your insipid dialogue is utterly ridiculous.

i won't be apart of extended your foolishness any longer.

Not sure if this will help Fed at all. Ok, he avoids Djokovic at SF, but he'll have to beat Novak to win the title anyway. Beating him in the SF could be easier, who knows? Also, what's more important will be who they meet in the early rounds.
