Fed the first man to tally 50 wins in all four Grand Slams

Fed is the first man to have 50 wins in all four Grand Slams. I found this to be an interesting metric---it ties in a bit to the previous discussions about excellence across all surfaces.....it also proves consistency and longevity. The comparison to previous generations is a bit skewed b/c guys like Mac and Borg didn't regularly play the AO and b/c of the homogenized surfaces. Still, it is very impressive.

And he did it at his 50th major championship. Nice work.

I think he tied Connors' record of 233 Grand Slam match wins too.

He's the Grand Slam man. The best all surface player to ever play the game. Period.

I think his longevity and consistency might be his most impressive achievement. It certainly stands apart from stats such as weeks at #1 and total slams to the same extent that baseball recognizes an "iron man."

Yes, that's correct.

I think this quote by Jimbo himself is very fitting in this thread:

"[In the modern game], you're a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist or a hard court specialist ... or you're Roger Federer." (Jimmy Connors)

That's quite a statement from JC!

So Federer is first to get 50 wins at all four slams.....

Can Djokovic become the first to get 100 wins at all four slams?
Think it's just barely possible, which is insane considering he was out injured in 2017, defaulted in 2020 and couldn't travel in 2022. The humid conditions are a killer at this age though, so I think it will depend on draw luck. If he plays in both 2026 and 2027 I think he can make it over the line, but he has serious decisions to make in that regard depending on what happens over the coming months

I am confident that should he play at least two more USO events, this year and next year, he will hit 100. It really depends on him and if he wants to play and feels getting 100 at all four slams is something he wants before he retires.
