Fed Tread Pattern

I just saw a pic of fed at the US Open, and his shoes have the old Vapor S2 Tread pattern. I don't understand why Nike wouldn't put this tread on the retail versions of the shoes if that tread pattern is clearly better.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Here is a pic.

it's not the s2 pattern. it's the air zoom vapor speed. fed had a thing about these shoes. he was supposed to wear the vapor 3s, but never did, wore the vapor speeds instead. i really liked those shoes, but quite frankly i liked the vapor 4's better.

the pro's can have their shoes made up differently to what the rest of us for buy. look at davydenko as well, he used to wear what looked like a prince nfs 3 squash shoe with a tennis sole

Yeah they can have their shoes made however they want, but i just don't see why Nike would change something that was working. I think it would have been just as easy for them to leave the tread pattern the same. Besides, and I'm probably going to get ridiculed for this, I just think that the old vapor pattern is better. I have never used them but just by looking at them they look like they would grip the court better and give you a little bit more traction. Idk, either way i still love my Vapor V's 8-)
