Fed vs Nadal, they are both great, but you cannot say Fed is greater

They both have career slam. Fed has more slams, but Nadal won first slam at age 18 compared to Fed at age 21, Nadal won career slam at age 24 compared to Fed at age 27. So IMO number of total slams are not everything, there are many other factors.

There are too many threads hovering around this topic. But the way I see it, even if Nadal gets up to the same slam count as Federer (even one or two more), the debate will not be settled - and I think that's a good thing.
Federer will likely always have more WTF victories and tenure at #1. Nadal himself said he feels Fed is the more complete player
(I do not think this is false modesty).
On the other hand, Nadal will likely still completely own the H2H against Federer and be considered to have greater mental toughness. Many people like to dismiss H2H, and I do understand their viewpoint, but what do you think Fed feels about it? It's annoying, at the least.
Depending on your own viewpoint, you could make a case either way. They are both so different, so dominating, and great for the sport, that it seems fitting to have valid arguments to both of them sharing GOAThood.

I thought Federer's 1st slam was at the age of 22.

My personal opinion is that Nadal is much better player than Federer.
level or two.

The results will reflect it usually.

Also, variety is important. If Nadal wins Australian again, he would have won each slam at least twice.
Who the heck cares if a player has won it at least twice? If you've won a Slam on a particular surface, it shows variety anyway, Fed has shown variety because he's won a slam on each surface, Djokovic has shown variety because he's won a slam on each surface and guess what? So has nadal because he's won a slam on each surface, they've all proven their worth so get this stupidity out of your head.

Federer is the greatest player to play in the Open Era, there is no doubt, his consistency on all surfaces for at least 16 years is 2nd to none, the way he plays the game is the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye of the neutral, he's the baton carrier of Men's tennis with Nadal who by the way is 2nd best in the Open Era in my opinion, plus the greatest Clay courter of all time. 93 titles, the way he's playing superb tennis in his mid 30s.

Federer has a resume nobody can really match, Nadal's 10 French Opens though is a feat which will never be equalled.

19 is greater than 16.

A number is just a number. Eventually there will be a player who wins 20 slams, 21 slams, 50 slams. Eventually people live for hundreds of years and play on tour for hundreds of years. Age achievements are just as important as number achievements IMO.

Serena has won each slam at least 3 times compared to Sharapova's 2 times. To many people that demonstrates Serena's better variety.

Yes I agree. The other factor I use along with slams for greatest list is ATP finals, so going by that Fed is easily still #1 and Rafa has a way to go. You don't get prize for winning younger sorry.

In this forum you will eventually learn to keep opinions like that to yourself ;)

Or use every chance to push them as adequate in the hope to cause a reaction that leads to more trolling, or better yet, comment on it like it makes sense and paint yourself in the corner to start a massive knee jerk reaction, again with the purpose of more trolling.

Both being great doesn't make them equal.
