Fedalistas, The Zedbot Cometh (Zverev)

Overrated, technically limited, physically limited, is nothing without his serve, forehand is always going to be average since he is not a teenager anymore and his development years are done, backhand is good but nothing special, awful touch and net game. Will struggle with players that can effectively return his serve, with means he will have to wait the decline of the top four to have real success.

Let's bump this comment in one year's time. This line is particularly hilarious:

"he is not a teenager anymore and his development years are done..." o_O

Perhaps a gentle reminder: Federer retooled and developed his BH when he was 35 years old.

It's way too early. Fed was slow to show the world what he could do. Lots of other guys were better at a very young age.
That's true, and Fed was definitely a late developer. Agassi, Chang and Wilander were clearly superior to Fed at the age of 20, yet between all three, they have amassed a total of 15 slams. Maybe it's nutrition, physios or human evolution, but in the end, one man reigns supreme.

Sampras was barely 19 when he won the USO.

However, it MAY be that Zverev right now is as impressive as any other prodigy given the enormous difficulty that younger players now have breaking through.

I personally think that his game is simpler. He's got an incredible serve and his game is pretty basic. He does not seem to improvise much. Very impressive also that he did so well on such a fast court and yet had great success earlier on clay.

Bottom line: he still has to win his first slam. It's the first slam that starts off an ATG career.

No, let's bump it now.

No, he did not retooled and developed his bh. At maximum he did took advantage of a racket with a bigger frame to have two excellent weaks at AO and a great match against Nadal in IW.

You may not have noticed, but other players will not have this advantage.

The zed years are upon us. I reckon he will end the possibly as no. 1. I just think Federer and Nadal are too old to hold it for too long. Nadal already skipped two masters, has two grand slams to defend in what remains of the year (and he will prob skip grass).

Dimitri looked like a contender at the start of the year, but has gone completely AWOL if you ask me.

The only other option is Delpo and given his injuries and problems with endurance I can't see him doing it either.

No, I think Sascha has a good shot at ye no 1. Especially since Lendl looks to be in his corner now.

Meles, you can't possibly think this kid will beat even rusty, old Rafa on clay. Please...
If the Zedbot is clicking it might happen. Is his game really that different from Soderling's? If he plays better than Rome final last year yes I think he can beat Rafa in his first match back and possibly even send Nadal back on injured reserve.
