My friend, you can't get anywhere in life without being honest, unless you have no conscience. We aren't just answering to ourselves. If that's what people think then cheat away. And again it is NOT Roger's fault. However I MIGHT have challenged that myself. I always give close calls to my opponent on my side and if I hit it long I will stop if they don't call it out. I call second serves out that are out, if they think it is too close to call. This extends to life in general. You simply have to earn what you have. The result of this match is simply not honest and Federer is one "lucky" guy.
I completely agree about the honestly. I have such a guilty conscience that it gets ridiculous sometimes. If I KNEW for sure that my ball was out, I know I would stop. In every match I play, I will also give the opponent the call, because otherwise I may feel guilty. Then again, I'm not in the US Open finals.
The thing is though, we do not know if Federer knew for sure or not. I also really believe the way Federer has been playing, the only difference would be a game. If it was a close match in terms of level of play, and that was a set point, I would not feel so sure.
Congrats to Fed, got the win as I'm typing this. I think it was well deserved, and nice way to end it =)
