Both lost a heartbreaking 5 setter final and both should have won in 4 sets at max.

In the previous comparison we saw 2015 Fed vs 2009 Roddick, but I think 2015 fed did not show the mental toughness or physicality to hang for 5 sets in the final whereas 2019 fed did show that.

So, lovely ladies and gentlemen, my fellow posters of TTW, who wins this hypothetical and how?
What would be the patterns of the match?

How would you rate both out of 10 in the finals they played.

Roddick in straight sets. 2019 Federer would never get a whiff of a break point against 2009 Roddick. It'd come down to if Federer could steal a tiebreak from Roddick. I say not.

No contest, Roddick was 6 years removed from his lone Slam victory. Federer should've have beat the man who would totally dominate tennis for several years, from that time onwards.
