With his win yesterday, Federer improved to 4-4 in 5 Set Grand Slam Finals.

He did not play a 5 Set match in his first 12 Grand Slam finals.

He has played in five 5 Set matches in his last 12 Grand Slam finals.

He has now won more 5 Set Grand Slam finals than any player in the open era, except Borg who won 5. Nadal has won 2 and Djokovic has won 2.

He could have purposely dropped a couple of sets in each of his first 12 finals and his record would be amazing.

Yawn. Wake me up when he comes back from 2 sets to love hole in the final.

Can't say this stat is of any interest to me. Matches are matches. You win 'em, or you lose 'em.

Mostly you just win 'em if you're Fed.

Federer went 4-5 in the end. Losing to Nole twice Rafa twice Delpo

Rafa went 4-3 losing to Federer twice and Nole once

Nole went 5-2 losing only to Andy Murray and Carlos Alcaraz. Not to fedal.

Federer twice
Nadal surprisingly only once but we still have the 2018 Wimbledon Semi.
Thiem
Tsitsipas

I guess you just think how close he came to doing in Alcaraz but otherwise a lot more 4 setters. Both 15 Finals against Fed really did feel closer to 5 than 4 compared to some dud 5 setters of the past.

Still feel Novak will get at least 1 more epic to best Borg
