In an IPTL live Q&A on saturday, Federer says he aims for a full schedule for 2016 due to be released in a couple of weeks. He also says he will probably not play doubles with Hingis in preparation for the Olympic Games and that he doesn't know his BH grip See link below

I'm hoping for at least one. Would be spectacular if he came out firing early 2016 and made his mark in the AO - that would surely spice things up going into the rest of the year. Wimbledon prob is his best chance though.

Yes agree that Djoko is the favourite by far but that's just what would add some heat to the start of the year - Nole getting a real scare by Fed early in the year might feel forced to turn things up going into the FO where, hopefully, Nadal can raise his game.

Rather misleading since they've only played once since 2008 and that was in 2011. It's not like they've racked up multiple encounters there.

Djoker finally managed to take three sets from Rafa at the FO this year, but it didn't ultimately help him to win the title.
