Good article here:

Judging from some of the press articles being written you would be forgiven for thinking the world has come to come kind of apocalypse (the sporting world, that is).
So Federer lost at Wimbledon, so what? Reality is he will not be the World No. 1 indefinitely. However he is definitely far from finished. The ball is round and sooner than later Federer will ready to fight for more titles. Nadal did very well to take his opportunities and win a 2nd Wimbledon, well done to him, but all those ready to consign Federer to the scrap heap and anoint Nadal as the greatest ever, need to take a Reality pill and wash that down with some Perspective.
Roger will be back and all it will take is 1 win in a Grand Slam for everyone including the press to be singing his praises from the rooftops again. Tennis followers seem very fickle in that way. Let's not forget 6 months ago Federer won the AO. It's not like he won it 2 years ago, although from reading some of these exceedingly stupid threads you would swear the last GS Federer won was in 2008 and had not made every GS final in 2009 including winning two of them and losing narrowly at the other two, and won another this year.
So Federer lost, life will go on for him and for Argentina as well. It would be a brave man or a plain out stupid one to suggest Federer will not live to fight another day and extend his record. Form is temporary, class is permanent and Federer will no doubt prove this over the next 12-36 months before he decides to hang up his racket ON HIS TERMS, NO ONE ELSE's.
Although something tells me that this is what all the haters are afraid will happen, (that he will add to his GS titles) hence all the calls for him to retire now. Rest assured, retirement is some way away yet.
