Federer and Nadal are both the greatest

Centre Court

Semi-Pro
I wish Fed and Nadal fans would stop arguing over who is greater. The GOAT argument will always be personal preference. Nadal could win 40 majors to Rogers 19, and I'd still prefer Federer for his way of playing the game and attacking style. Would that mean I think Rafa is a worse player than Roger ? Not at all.
When both players retire, each respective fan base will miss the opposite player, trust me on this. There will never be a Federer Nadal rivalry in tennis ever again once they leave, I'm pretty confident. I'm sick of hearing about head to head arguments, major numbers and how Rafa is better on Clay and Federer is better on grass. These are obvious, we have been watching them play for years!
I'm getting ready for the hatred from some die hard fans but who cares? We have witnessed the greatest 2 players of our generation play, and it's not over yet, enjoy it , stop arguing. now if you'll excuse me, I have some dancing to do

both are overrated and neither really is GOAT.
but Nadal is nowhere near being GOAT that much is sure.a lucky and glorified clay court specialist cannot be called GOAT

lol I never claimed Borg was GOAT.it's just stupid rafatards who go on and on about GOAT which is something he'll never get near to whether you accept it or not

Inversely, Fed is no where near the GOAT when he is so easily marginalized on clay, with an overall losing record to Nadal.

Funny who that works...unless you think about it.

2nd best clay courter for a long stretch of yrs is 'marginalized'? Hmmmmmm.

The 'co' thing is ridiculous. Major titles has been the measuring stick for Open Era; one player sits st the top, 21% more than the next best.

as I said before, both are undeserving of the GOAT tag.and don't even bring the childish h2h you fangirls of both sides have been fussing about for God knows how long.Nadal just isn't good enough and hasn't been challenged much on clay with the weak clay court players of this era.Nadal doesn't deserve to be called GOAT and anyone calling him likewise is illiterate in tennis

I agree.

Nadal is the greatest clay court player we have ever seen in tennis.
Federer is the greatest tennis player we have ever seen.

They are both the greatest.

The GOAT argument will always be personal preference.

Actually it has nothing to do with personal preference. The stark numbers are clear and irrefutable who is the GOAT. Which career would you (or anyone else besides Nadal) wish to have? Seriously...

Career A:

8 Wimbledon's
5 USO's
5 AO's
1 FO
6 YEC's
300+ weeks as #1

Career B:

2 Wimbledon's
2 USO's
1 AO
10 FO's
0 YEC's
141+ weeks as #1

And this isn't cherry picking, these are the tournaments and the records that matter in tennis history: slams and weeks at #1. There's nothing to argue, the proof is eloquently presented right here.

Simple yet to the point. I fail to see how could anyone fail to see it.

I disagree..

Spadea, Fognini, Tomic are all the greatest. GOAT is a personal preference, after all, right ? :D

Great post. I was a child during Agassi-Sampras and I definitely preferred Andre. Tennis really came alive for me again with the emergence of Nadal and his battles with Roger. I remember being devastated when Federer held him off at Wimbledon 2007 and being equally inspired with the Wimbledon victory in 2008.

Even though I prefer Nadal, I can definitely appreciate what Federer and also Novak Djokovic have accomplished and like seeing them do well. They won't be here forever.
