Did Federer make a mistake by signing the life long contract with Wilson?
What are your thoughts?

At around $2 million a year, plus he has played with their products for as long as I could remember.

Why would that be a mistake?

Do you think he should have hold out for more money?

Roger could lose all the money he ever made playing or from previous endorsements, retire tomorrow and still never have to worry about money. I say that qualifies as a good decision.

I dont mean money nd stuff.
I mean like what if Federer finds a better racket more fit for him in different brand? then what wud he do?

He would not find it. First he is not looking, and second for this kind of money he will always like Wilson more.

So Federer will just make Wilson make a new custom racquet for him that plays just like that one or he will do a PJ. The guy has clout, Wilson and everybody will bend over backwards for him

Plus Roger gets 2 million dollars a year for the rest of his life (or as long as wilson doesn't go bankrupt)... somehow that seems like a good deal to me!

Good move for him. The most important things for players are sticks they feel comfortable with - hence the fact that many pros play with "old" racquets. For the rest of time he will get some pocket money and have the frames he is used to playing with. Good deal.

no lifetime racquet contract is a "bad deal." Anyone good enough to be offered one has enough pull to have a racquet company make a stick to any spec they want.

He has a lifetime contract so when he is 65 years old, he will still be getting 65 million dollars from Wilson. I think that is pretty good for a contract.

If wilson ever gets into financial troubles. It maybe cheaper to hire a hitman to terminate the contract rather than keep paying it out.

Wilson won't get into financial trouble. They'll just take a good racquet from Head or another company, put a nice paintjob on it, and resell it as six-one.

You make it sound like they can't just make him a new one from the ground up....

They're doing it with Sampras, so why not Federer?

Oh, they did....... hence the k90.
