Federer beat the Indian Wells champion this year

i don't think anyone thinks he can't play well enough to win...it's just if he can play well enough for an entire tournament to win a title
He’s not in Murray’s boat. This wasn’t knee replacement. He just has to be more patient this time before he returns. Make the decision only after a full fledged rehab and retrain “campaign” under Paganini, longer than this past attempt.

Who cares, 2017 Djokovic went perfect against Del Potro, 2017 Federer got cooked by Delpo at the US Open. Meaningless stuff lol.
Djokovic for some reason absolutely owned Del Potro (well, outside of the Olympics, lol).

They definitely had battles and the matchup was far from one sided, but DelPo is 1-16 in Tour events vs Novak (1-0 in DC and 2-0 at the Olympics). I always wondered why JMDP was able to give Federer and Nadal such trouble but not Djoko. The matchup doesn’t really favor Djokovic in any obvious way and Del Po is of course no slouch as proven by the Olympics and Wimby SF ‘13/Shanghai ‘13.

Congrats! You just won a one-hour hitting session with the ptenis performer formerly known as @sureshs . All travel and lodgings are on your dime but our leader cross-trains all his students so they become adept at both the forehand of doom and forkhand of doom. You won’t be hungry at any point in your stay in San Diego.

Djokovic owned a lot of players. He also owned Wawrinka in tour events (like one loss in 20).

In that case, I'll pass.

I mean at 38 years old he cleaned out Djokovic in straight sets at the WTF (and a point away at Wimbledon a few months before). I think he can still beat anyone in a stand alone b03 shoot out (and most in 5) but it's a matter of whether he could do it over a whole tournament

He love power hitters with no variety, he is quite good in Counterpunching.

Ever wondered why stall 1 ran out of toilet paper, and stall 2 is out of order? Think about it and you'll find the perfect solution to your problem.

Stall #2 at a Chili’s near Sureshs early 90s workplace was ground zero for The Really Big Bang after Big Sioux’s dot/desi cousin Big Sureshs ate his very first Awesome Blossom. It has been turned into a museum to commemorate Hiz impact on food safety during the last two decades.

What's interesting is Federer and Nadal have both beaten the IW 2021 champion and have also never lost to him but Djokovic? He has never beaten him.

Should this be a factor in the GOAT debate?

He has beaten the champion, but also lost to the finalist. These things happen all the time with players ranked around the 30-70 spots

Rublev in normal form beat Rogeriatric in straight sets

Hope to see faster conditions still but ATP is still the same tyrannical POS monopoly
that pushes for pushery and endorses its drone pusher Sour Andy Muzzler any chance it gets.

Faster conditions are the only chance aggressive players like Fed, Tsitsi, Alcaraz, Shapo,
Tiafoe, Evans, Berretini, Thiem and other non droners can have any glory.

When Tsitsipas makes a final in Wimbledon let us know. I see that guy is more comfortable in slow conditions. Even the average speed US open courts were too much for him to handle and he lost to a 18 year old guy.

Players levels vary during the season. It is possible for a player to lose in round one of a tournament and then win the next one.
Just in case you did not know this.

More a kind of utterly ludicrous Covid-Crazy statistic!!!
Fed has 630 points in the race to Turin. 4R at French and QF at Wimbledon massively beneficial here. I do not know how many points Murray has but it’s less than 450 as he is not in the top 100 for the race and the ATP website won’t show me the 101-200 list.

Obviously his seeding and thus draw was boosted by COVID but Federer did beat Koepfer, Cilic, Norrie, Mannarino at Slams. All of whom are higher ranked players than anyone Muzzah has beat iirc (except maybe Basilashvili?)

What's with the Norrie hate? I'm not a fan and his shots look weird but he won fair and square. You can only play who is in front of you. Not a boxing match where you can pick who you choose to fight, is it?

Plays a thinking man's tennis game and is improving constantly. I watched him play Sandgren and after he lost the 2nd set it didn't seem to faze him at all, he just won the 3rd set 6-0. That was impressive. Sandgren literally hobbled off the court, I know because I was watching him intently and he was having a hard time walking. Norrie looked like he could play another 3 setter, this guy is super fit. People don't realize how slow these courts are and how they take your legs out. I've played there many times, the first few times my knees were sore because of the ridiculous amount of traction on the surface, trying to serve and volley is almost impossible even for the pros, you just get hung out to dry.

live-tennis.eu can be your friend. They show everything up to #500 IIRC, giving you all the options for live rankings, live race, age specific rankings, schedules.

Hey if Ruud can play so well of a sudden on hard courts recently, then a young souvlaki sauced fighter will evolve to smoke that rye grass.
He is still a kid mentally and his father just past puberty so it will take some effort I agree. However love watching the self proclaimed greek god
or angry gonad never say die even if he has to cheat, which is laughable with the digital systems and his beloved social media catching him out.
He doesnt glide over the court and on grass that is not going to be the right step to winning there. His serve is still not as accurate so lots to sort out.

Sour Murray almost had him as well which shows that these smart tech groomed social media kids have no patience for the homogenized drudgery.
Any kind of risk taking opens up the door to self destruction when faced with top level hackers. To think computer hackers are jailed but Tennis hackers
are lauded by the debacle forced by the ATP nanny state goes to show that they will rather ruin and kill the sport than face up to being totally wrong.
