Oh, not another one!

MACAU (AP) -- Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg will team up in doubles in a special event here in November, possibly against the men who finished their famous Wimbledon streaks, in a Blackrock Tour of Champions event.

Federer and Borg both won five consecutive Wimbledon singles titles, with Federer's run only ending earlier this month with a loss in the final to No. 2-ranked Rafael Nadal.

Federer and Borg, who won five straight Wimbledon titles from 1976-80 before losing the '81 final to John McEnroe, face McEnroe and possibly Nadal on the other side of the net.

McEnroe's partner against the Federer-Borg combination will be either Nadal or American James Blake at The Venetian Macau Tennis Showdown. His partner will come from whichever country loses the Davis Cup semifinal between Spain and the United States in September.

The tournament will start with a one-set showdown between old foes Borg and McEnroe.

It will end with Federer and Borg teaming up against McEnroe and his partner in a 10-point doubles tiebreaker.

This is bad idea. Borg can barely play tennis anymore, and Mcenroe is still as fit as ever for about a set or two. Nadal simply owns Federer. Borg and Federer is going to end up losing for sure. And why would they pick Macau anyway. Maybe Fed has some good memories there? :)

Will Borg be interested or engaged at all? He always looks like he's going through the motions when he's playing or being interviewed.

Sounds like it would be mildly entertaining to watch.

Take it for what its worth people. Just fun and it would be after the season is over so whats the harm?

This is just my opinion but i think people would be interested in seen this four just having lunch! how can people think it will be a boring thing, I mean they are going to play doubles without the pressure of a tournament, it has to be fun to watch.

did it ever occur to you that doubles is still owned by serve and volleyer's not super spin and counter punching? Nadal cant play net any way... + his passing shots wont work because there is 2 of them... He wont win by running for the balls because its doubles...

There is really no point to this other than to give Borg a nice payday (for being still alive basically).
It will be a curiosity and a temporary mild diversion but the idea really doesn't stir any emotions, unless tepid curiosity is an emotion (I don't think it is).
Plus the doubles are merely a ten point tie break after Borg and McEnroe drag out their tired act. Who could get excited over that?
Here's hoping Borg will have even the slightest bit of emotional involvement in it all but don't hold your breath. That's just not Borg's bag, baby.
All in all, not one for the ages.
