Roger Federer paid a hilarious tribute to his US Open quarter-final opponent Juan Martin del Potro by comparing him to Thor.
Federer reignites injury fears but wins comfortably to set up Del Potro encounter
The world No. 3 set up a meeting with the Argentine after successfully dispatching Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets, although he did suffer with a slight back problem during the contest.
Del Potro earlier beat Domminic Thiem in a five-set epic, fighting back from 2-0 down to set up a repeat of the 2009 final in New York,
During his win, Del Potro thumped down some massive forehand winners to blow the Austrian away as part of an incredible comeback.
And Federer paid a brilliant tribute to his upcoming opponent by comparing him to the Norse god.

Federer uploaded a video of Del Potro hitting a forehand winner past Thiem but when his racquet is about to strike the ball, it turns into Thor’s hammer.
Along with the video, he posted the caption: ‘Juan Martin del THORtro’.
