Good week for Fed, didn't lose to a clown for a change. Nearly qualified for London now.

I know Delpo did nothing wrong but I just lost a little respect for him. Congrats DELPO you were the far better player in the whole tournament. You deserve it!

LAWL!

Your post is f**n outstanding!

Let's get the award ceremony rolling; now I'm totally psyched!

WIN

Thanks mate!! A very happy birthday to you!! I know exactly how you feel! I was in this situation yesterday :(

Belated happy B'day from me too. :D

Happy B'day to you too, DragonBlaze. :D

Happy birthday! I think he lost the USO '09 on my birthday, but I like JMDP, so yeah... At least he made the final right? Hope you can enjoy your day.

Thanks guys! Wish I hadn't watched this match to be honest. I just joined in the third set and it was pretty average quality and ofcourse the result..... Whatever.

Congrats Delpo!

As for Federer, I fear for what awaits at the WTF. I genuinely thinks he's going to lose all 3 matches.

If Im Fed I can't beat any of the top tier elite players, considering my resume, I retire. Money should be no issue anymore, but he could keep some of his pride.

He should have retired after wimbledon last year because he has NO CHANCE of winning anything of note anymore

All Fed can do is beat the bums now. He can't do any damage to the top guys anymore however

Don't worry...Nadal's time is going to come soon too...Let's see hope you hang around to witness that.

If him and Ferrer are in the same group, he might win one

I honestly think Delpo should have lost on purpose. Don't care what anybody else thinks that's the way I feel though.
(well aware of not feeding trolls but still)

You do know this is tennis, right?
That'd be disastrous for the sport.

Warm embrace from both guys. Delpo now leads the indoor H2H 4-3

Delpo:
1. WTF 2009
2. Basel 2012
3. WTF 2012
4. Basel 2013

Fed:
1. Basel 2007
2. Madrid 2008
3. Rotterdam 2012

Fed just has too many blips these days. You can't be dropping serve from 40-15 up with a bunch of UE's, and then to get the chance he did in the next game, particularly the 30-40 point, and not capitalize. And these days, Federer just doesn't break as much as he used to so when he goes down a break you just get the feeling the set is over.

He played pretty well today, just too many blips like I said. Congrats to Delpo. He was pretty good as well. Very solid.

Great win for Delpo though. 4 titles this year and all 500s. Really wanted to see Federer win though, he was giving it his all, it just wasn't good enough against 2013 Delpo. Hopefully 2014 Delpo will be even better and win a major or two.

Next year is Fed's last year also btw.

Great victory for Del Potro, he was just unbreakable in the 3rd set. Federer screwed up at the beginning of the final set but even there I fear he would get broken later on, just wasn't consistent enough.

I thought Federer would go down 2 and 3 to be honest, this was a very good match from him, hope he can build from this coming into Paris and WTF.

This time next year we could all be watching a very big retirement party.

i'ts funny from romeo88 since he's complaining everyday here about match fixing, and today he wanted the match fixed

If only Fed held when he was up 40-15......if he only he broke Delpo when he was 15-40......if he only he had done both......WHY FED!!!

But to be fair guys you have to remember nobody has gone through so much heartbreak as Delpo. Davis Cup against Nadal, Olympics against Fed, Wimbledon against Djokovic. So he's had his share.

Federer still played Delpo better than Rafa did.

Del Potro didn't play anywhere near the level that he played in the last match against Nadal.

Yesterday you told us at this moment Rafa is unbeatable. Today you beat him. Before stepping onto the court, how do you persuade yourself he's actually beatable?
JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO: Yeah, I mean, he's unbeatable for I think 99% of the players. I also say no many guys has the game to beat him. Only Djokovic or Murray, Federer. Also there is players like Berdych, Tsonga or me which, if we are in a good day like I be in today, we have the opportunity to beat this guy. I don't know if the next tournament I will be playing at the same level.

Federer has had his share of disappointment losing to Nadal in so many GS finals. Delpo hasn't experienced that yet.

This Delpo on this court would have beaten Nadal.
