Not bad, considering it was probably put together a bit hastily.

I do imagine, as others have said, the shoe will drop on Monday.

I don’t mind that it’s not a Tennis shoe, I think the AF1 was a good choice as a commemorative shoe. Of course as a Tennis fan I would prefer the shoe be a tennis shoe, but this is fine by me for the occasion. I’m just glad they put something out.

I would like to see more personal details about his accomplishments. Maybe there will be some of that on the inside of the box and/or shoe.

Imagine if, instead of the AF1 model, they did a limited reproduction of the Breathe Frees with the colorway from AO2004 when he first hit number 1.

Add to it some little detailing of his dates gaining/recapturing no. 1, list of total weeks at no. 1, etc... Would be easy to put some cool highlights on that model.

Now that would be a cool release

So I guess I’m really out of touch on stuff like this. Must be officially old at 47. Is this a collectible such that you wouldn’t wear it? Or more like a casual shoe you wear with jeans and stuff rather than to work out? I get that it isn’t a tennis shoe. Just curious. Thanks.

47 is young!

To answer your question: If they only make 300 or so pairs, then yeah, they are highly collectible. However if you want to wear it, that's entirely up to you if you like the look of them in context. The downside to wearing a very rare pair of shoes is that they lose some of their value, verses holding onto them and watching them gain in value (à la the infamous RF287).

However regarding this particular pair, I read this about it:
"Sadly for most, but understandable by all, these immaculate sneakers will be one of one, with Federer being the sole recipient."

In which case, if you ever somehow got your hands on these?... no I woudln't wear them. :)

They were available via the SNKRS Nike app (7AM Pac time) - sold out. So not 1 of 1. (unless Fed's had something special on them like his game shoes)

I wonder about the true value and collectible value - short of getting Fed to sign one, they're just a homely walk around town show with RF on it. I think most Fed fans, if they're going to pay a giant premium, would go for something that's at least a tennis shoe. Like the 287's or the MJ collabs.

I don’t think it was available at SNKRS app.
If it was available, Nike usually put “sold out” sign. The description said “ exclusive for Federer” and federer’s Shoes has wooden box.
Also Nike plans to release this shoes, it should be on Monday. Officially he will be #1 on Monday. Not today.
If there were people who bought this shoes, we should see resellers from bay but I don’t see any pair at bay.

Yesterday (Saturday) around 11AM Pac time it did say 'Sold Out'. Same as the AJ III Black Concrete - which now don't show the 'Sold Out' symbol either.

Many times, when they initially post items they have said sold out, only to be changed later. Not one up on the auction site tells me they haven’t been for sale at all, if ever.

Probably it was for Federer and Federer bought his pair hahahahA

How ugly...seriously Nike...you should fire your entire design department. This looks atrocious.
Air force one is/was famous and have traditions but I agree that they can do better than this. Now I see why Adidas gains market shares from Nike. Honestly retail shops Adidas started to copy Nike but designs are much better and more people are willing to pay for Adidas products.
Nike needs to pay attention now. Otherwise, Adidas will continue to take their market shares.

That's possible - 1 of 1. Or some junior varsity member of the IT team put the Sold Out icon up in error.

I'm one of Nike's biggest defenders on TW - but they're even starting to bug me with their screw-ups. The latest - can't even take decent pictures that show the true colors of their products. The Vapor X's with the red - the red is much brighter (and better looking) in person. And just bought a pair of their running shoes - a dark blue becomes black when their arrive.

I agree on the color issues. But I honestly feel like this is a problem with many of the shoe companies. That being said, I can't tell you how many Nike's I have returned through the mail because of this exact same problem, including the current bred Vapor X's. Very frustrating, indeed.

Cool, i guess he's quite a sneakerhead. He switched out of them and was wearing Air Jordan 1s (i think) in the pic that he posted in the locker room with his team on instagram.
Theres tbis sneaker store video on youtube. Lol he drops like 10k or whatever it was at the end of the vid on sneakers

Look how thick the cup sole is on those things.

They look like creepers.

A truly bizarre and heavy handed attempt at cross platform commemoration / marketing from Nike
