Federer has won just one Masters tournament without defeating a top 10 player (2006 Canada)

2002 Hamburg: 7 Kuerten, 5 Safin
2004 Indian Wells: 5 Agassi, 10 Henman
2004 Hamburg: 8 Moya, 3 Coria
2004 Canada: 2 Roddick
2005 Indian Wells: 2 Hewitt
2005 Miami: 7 Henman, 10 Agassi
2005 Hamburg: 8 Coria
2005 Cincinnati: 5 Roddick
2006 Indian Wells: 6 Ljubicic
2006 Miami: 9 Blake, 6 Ljubicic
2006 Canada: none (16 Gonzalez was highest ranked opponent)
2006 Madrid: 4 Nalbandian, 10 Gonzalez
2007 Hamburg: 2 Nadal
2009 Madrid: 6 Roddick, 5 Del Potro, 1 Nadal
2009 Cincinnati: 2 Murray, 4 Djokovic

Wow. Since youve started this, let me do it for Rafa:

2005 Monte Carlo: 6 Gaudio, 9 Coria
2005 Rome: none (highest was 11 Coria)
2005 Canada: 7 Agassi
2005 Madrid: none (highest was 12 Ljubicic)
2006 Monte Carlo: Coria 9, Gaudio 8, Federer 1
2006 Rome: Gonzales 9, Federer 1
2007 Indian Wells: 3 Roddick
2007 Monte Carlo: 1 Federer
2007 Rome: 5 Djokovic, 4 Davydenko, 6 Gonzales
2008 Monte Carlo: 5 Ferrer, 4 Davydenko, 1 Federer
2008 Hamburg: 3 Djokovic, 1 Federer
2008 Canada: 9 Murray
2009 Indian Wells: 6 Del Potro, 7 Roddick, 4 Murray
2009 Monte Carlo: 4 Murray, 3 Djokovic
2009 Rome: 8 Verdasco, 3 Djokovic
2010 Monte Carlo: none (highest 12 Verdasco)

So Nadal's won 3 titles without beating a top tener. Bu on the flip side, in his 16 wins, Federer beat 23 top 10 players. In his 16 wins, Rafa has beaten 26 top 10 players.

And Nadal beat the world number 1 5 times. Federer did it once (lol)

You can't use the #1 statistic because of the fact that Federer can't beat himself. Just proves how much better Federer is then Nadal. Years end #1s 5>1... 16>6

But didn't Federer beat himself in some of those matches? That should sorta count:D

Hope this thread was created in good humour otherwise it is stupid because these guys,Fedal, can't control the draw and who gets in their way. What if the respective top10 players in a certain period were injured or were surprisingly eliminated and you get few top guys in your way or none? You can only play who is in front of you.

My dad is stronger than your dad.

How many times has Federer beaten Nadal in a masters final, and vice versa? Who cares about top ten opponents.
