At 19 slams now, Nadal and Djoko are going through a hell of a lot to keep pace with the 35 year old.
Nadal at max has at least 3 slams he can win, he is 0-8 in hard court finals and his clay form may not be as consistent as new clay court players emerge to win.
Djoko is going through a mental and physical burnout since the Nole slam. Understandable since he dominated the game from 2011 onwards and denied federer the most in 2014-2016. He is in a slump and god knows how long this will last.
Both guys must have thought Roger would not expand upon his 18 titles, but the man has proven that he wants to win more and more, of course a depleted field helps but thats not his concern. Raise your game folks, the old man may still play on for another three years, he could conceivably end his career on 21 GS.
