WOW. As a hardcore Djokodal fan this is an unreal stat.

Federer -

AO: 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2017
WIM: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012,
USO: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

First and ONLY player to win five times at 3/4 grand slams (Novak needs at least two at Wimbledon and 3 at the US Open to challenge this)

When I was doing the tally in my head yesterday it dawned on me how amazing this actually is. The only reason he doesn't have AT LEAST one CYGS is because he was unfortunate enough (but fortunate for us spectators) to come up during the reign of the greatest clay court player of all time.

Incredible achievement. When this was mentioned yesterday on another thread, a Novak fan claimed that the Nole "slam" was worth far more in legacy terms and far more difficult to do.

I disagree emphatically, as would also any tennis historian. What Novak did was a stellar achievement, but he disappeared as a player the moment he achieved it. He has never sustained a brilliant level for longer than about 16 months (examples are 2011 and 2015).

Winning 15 majors at three different venues demonstrates dominance and longevity, as well as unbelievable level of play at the most demanding tournaments. I really think this achievement of Roger is on par with his 7 Wimbledon's. And to do it at 35 is mind boggling!

It's more than deserved. In fact I think it was a crying shame he didn't have 5 at three slams prior. He was that dominant at AO, Wimbledon, and US Open from 2004 to 2007.
