Federer head to heads vs Sampras and Agassi in their primes

What do you believe the Federer head to heads vs Sampras and Agassi would be in their primes if they played 10 matches on each surface. Here would be mine:

Federer vs Sampras:

Rebound ace- 5 wins each
Clay- Federer wins 7 out of 10
Old 90s grass- Sampras wins 8 out of 10
current grass- Sampras wins 6 out of 10
Decoturf- Sampras wins 7 out of 10
Carpet- Sampras wins 7 out of 10

Agassi vs Federer:

Rebound ace- 5 wins each
Clay- Federer wins 6 out of 10
Old 90s grass- Federer wins 8 out of 10
current grass- Federer wins 6 out of 10
Decoturf- Federer wins 6 out of 10
Carpet- Federer wins 7 out of 10

This is such an original topic to discuss...it's almost like there aren't 400 threads already on this topic.

What's next, a WTA weak era thread?

Federer vs Sampras:

Rebound Ace- Federer wins 7 of 10
Clay- Federer wins 9 of 10
Grass- Sampras wins 6 of 10
Regular hard courts- Federer wins 7 of 10
Indoors or carpet- not enough available today to tell

Federer vs Agassi:

Rebound ace- Federer wins 6 out of 10
Clay- Federer wins 8 out of 10
Grass- Federer wins 10 out of 10
Regular hard court- Federer wins 7 out of 10

Mandy01 if you dont like someones thread it makes more sense to not post rather than whining. At times you can resemble your avatar.

Yawn. Such a craptastic thread to litter the board. Please stop making these posts. First of all, Sampras would maybe win 1 out of ten against Federer on clay. Absolutely crazy to say otherwise.

Sampras could beat anyone on a given day on clay. He just didnt have the consistency. When he played a top player on clay he got up for it and either won or went down tough. I think he would get some wins over Federer on clay if they played often enough.

What if we all started a thread when we had some meaningless opinion to state, AND backed it up with fake statistics?

vs Sampras:

Grass: Sampras wins 6 out of 10.
Slow hard courts: Federer wins 7 out of 10.
Fast hard courts: Sampras wins 6 out of 10.
Clay: Federer wins 10 out of 10.

IMO Federer would own Sampras on any surface but grass where he'll get a few wins as well.

Sampras would own Federer on fast hardcourts, grass and carpet, he would just overwhelm Federer with his attacking game. You are very ignorant and biased to say Federer would own Sampras.

a few ideas for original threads:

the state of wta is ___________(insert random insult)

is roger goat of he wins the ____(insert name of next crappy tournament)

what string does ________(insert name of next big thing) use?

_________(insert giberish) h2h between Fed and Nad is__________ (insert more giberish)

....

Nadal owns Federer not just because of the match up issue, its because he never backs down and is a mental rock, just like Pete Sampras.
Do you know what ownage even means? Nadal wins because he is a naturally bad match-up for Roger.Sampras is not.
And no,mental strength allows you to fight (which Roger does very well even against Nadal, most of the times),it dosent necessarily win you matches. To put it in a better way-It is only one factor-which by the way can easily get affected by the way two players match up against each other.
Are you trying to tell me that the players whom Sampras had a losing record against were mentally stronger than him or superior to him in any way?LOOOL.

In that case Sampras owned Agassi too and theirs was never a rivalry either.

I dont think anyone denies Sampras got the better of Agassi. As it though even Agassi did better vs Sampras than Federer vs Nadal. He beat him in their biggest matches on Agassi's favorite surfaces, and the ratio is alot closer overall.

Hold on a second, a win is a win at the end of the day, correct? This is just like saying 'Nadal only beats Federer because Federer never tries to win'. Incredibly poor excuse!

Not really..Sampras and Agassi just played more matches against each other.
Incase of Nadal and Federer the only thing I would agree to is that Nadal owns Federer and everyone on clay.

Are you saying if Federer and Nadal had played 34 times instead of 20 the ratio would improve?
maybe, but that would mean I'd even want their age difference to be closer than five years as well as their peak years. They're too far apart IMO.

Then again,this is too hypothetical.
btw-Roger's ratio against Nadal isnt good but its not pathetic either.

Sampras might sneak in a win on carpet, but only because carpet is obsolete to the tour now and Federer doesn't have as much experience on it. Anything else, Federer in straights.

kudos to GSF for starting a discussion on a very original, never-before-discussed topic.

My take: out of the 60 matches (10 matches/surface * 6 surfaces), it would be 50-10 in favor of Federer, and that's being generous. Federer is just not a good match-up for Pete. He eats power players (big serve, great off one wing, lousy on the other, attack on every opportunity kinda players) for lunch. Defensive minded players have a chance with him, though.

True, but consider this: Pete is 0-2 against Wayne ferraira on carpet (both matches played during Pete's prime - 1995). I think Federer would do at least as well as Ferreira.

Oh yeah ? What stopped him from "owning" baby-Fed at Wimby-01 ? Oh right ! he was'nt at his peak then -- never mind that he served out of his mind that day...

Oh wait... Here we go round the mulberry bush, mulberry bush....

You're right because Sampras is just like Roddick...

Considering your post history, you shouldnt be telling anyone that they are not level headed. Oh and I laugh when you bring up Nadal. Federer- 15 Sampras-14. 15>14. I figured you might want some overly simplistic and regurgitated facts thrown back at yourself.
