Federer is now 1-9 against #1 at Slams

Prime/Peak Djokovic does seem to have the least close losses to his main rivals than the other two, but some of that is a function of timing - Nadal falling off a cliff physically in 2014 and Federer in 13, and Murray’s back surgery. Federer, Nadal, and Murray all beat him in slams between 2011-13, even though he was the clear #1 of this period, he really benefited from the peak contender void of mid 2014-16.
The competition didn’t become relatively not good enough until 2016-17. 2014-15 was fine level at the top was still good even if not as good as 2011-13. People complain so much man.....

OK.

So you're joking...

Ha ha ha... ha ha... ha... ha.

Ha.

What you believe is irrelevant. Facts are there.

He has to win 11 more slams next year to join the debate?
Facts are he is well behind Fedal in slams. He certainly has to win 3 more to even be in the debate - presuming Fedal win no more either.

Didn't realise you were a Novak Djokovic fanboi btw, but some of your recent posts make it clear you are.

I hope you recover from this disease soon.

You actually believe that the GOAT race (which is BS anyway) is a childishly simple "who won the most slams" issue?

You are a Fedfan, aren't you? Your hatred for Novak is making your posts irrelevant.

I've defended and criticized all of the Big 3.

You have not.

I won't address the GOAT bit again (i.e. whether the GOAT exists or not), because we've discussed that ad nauseam.

I am, and have been, a fan of many tennis players, male and female - starting with Sampras, Henman and Hingis in the late 1990s, and going through such non-GOAT contenders as Srichaphan, Grosjean, Capriati, Hsieh and so on.

Yes, I am a Federer fan - also a fan of Nadal. But that's not why I dislike Novak Djokovic. I'll accept him as GOAT if he gets there, but it's best for a major sport like tennis if such a disgusting individual with a bland game isn't the greatest in the sport's history. And his achievements aren't as great as Federer's or Nadal's objectively anyway (let's leave aside people like Laver who it's hard to compare with, but I will say there's a case for a few historical greats being above him also).

You have criticized Federer way more than the other 2 btw - every second post of yours on the topic is about how he played in a weak era. So don't pretend you're objective.

I rest my case...

(If it's personal, just say it's personal, not tennis-related...)

When Novak becomes overrated like RF (fat chance) I shall criticize his achievements a lot. But for now, RF is overrated and he is my target far more than Rafa or Novak. Obvious. And logical.

Federer isn't overrated though (putting aside the "there is no GOAT" argument - for the sake of argument, assume there is a GOAT who can be measured/determined by achievements).

He's considered GOAT in the wider tennis community, but there is acknowledgement that Nadal, Novak Djokovic and other historical greats like Laver are close to him. I don't think there's an assumption that he's miles ahead of all other contenders.

I'm glad you admit that Federer is "your target" though.

1. You mean OUTSIDE of tennis, among people who watch 2-3 matches a year or none at all. The people who see Rolex adds but don't follow tennis. Those are the ones who still believe he is GOAT... They understand tennis like I am expert in bio-engineering.

2. Yeah, feel free to take my words out of context. If that's the game you wanna play, I can play it too...

I think he’s still considered GOAT inside tennis circles actually - with an acknowledgement that some others are close to his status. I don’t think he’s massively overrated - he’s not (except for by some rabid fanbois) considered a God figure.

If you’re annoyed that he gets a lot more Rolex commercials than Novak Djokovic - well, that’s another question lol.

I feel like some of Roger's fans will be on suicide watch. Is Fed not being one of the all-time greats with an aesthetically pleasing game not enough?

Were you only fans of the guy in the first place because he was prematurely declared GOAT?
Again rival fan bases erroneously speak for Fed fans. Many of us have stated that Nadal will be GOAT if he ever passes Roger in the slam race. Because this doesn't fit into the scripted narrative, it's just repeated endlessly, even though it's been exposed for the mendacity that it is.

I was a Fed fan starting in 1998 when I saw him play Andre in Basel. Somehow, your "thesis" of jumping on the bandwagon because he was "declared GOAT" in 1998 rings hollow. Nobody knew or cared much who 17 year old Roger was back then.

I don't generally don't like the guy, but anybody who is reasonable and understands tennis knows that Djokovic is the Open Era GOAT now. I honestly can't even believe it is still argued.

At the time, I didn't want Sampras to be the Open Era GOAT, either. But it just couldn't be reasonably argued after so many years of being the best.

The only real potentially interesting argument is who is #2 in the Open Era. That's what we all should be discussing. Instead of arguing something equivalent to the Sun being hot.

Lol always happy to get in a stats mudfight.

To save me the trouble of reading the thread may I request you let me know what are the main messages you wish the stats to tell?

Thanks
I was just joking, but if we were to continue with this, we should borrow inspiration from Lew.

His message is "Djokr GOAT, Fedr weak", so the opposite would be an interesting way of trolling him.

What we should be arguing is whether Fed will even be #3 of his own era
