"Federer is the GOAT", Agassi hasn't changed his mind.

In an interview at Chile, before his exhibition match with Rios, Agassi said that "Roger Federer is the best of all times". In another part, he said that "the best opponent he ever had was Roger Federer, over Pete Sampras". He, also, said that "to be number one in the world you need to have two things over all the rest, but Federer has four or five extra things"

From the source:

(Cooperativa.cl)

Agassi sounds pretty convinced I guess but we'll find out for sure in 4-5 years as Federer gets close to retirement and we have some numbers to compare with the all time legends.

Oh also Federer losing to Canas twice in a row is not that important as many people made it sound imo. It was surely something new and different but I think that Federer will bounce back soon and regain his confidence (except if he meets Canas early again  )

Agassi is not talking about numbers. He's talking about how the guy plays, regardless of his accomplishments.

^^^ I agree.

I have said it many times, to me >> Roger Federer is the best player I have seen between the lines, regardless of the numbers.

Well I can't argue with that as Agassi played against Federer a few times as well as against Sampras and he knows better than anyone if Federer is the best or not :D

I agree - Fed has the best game ever,BUT times change and the game evolves,so its only natural that todays players would be better than past players at their peaks, therefore if you want to pick a GOAT you have to compare the player to his generation and that could only be done with numbers.

So did he play Borg,Lavor and others great players of different eras too?playing against 2 of the greatest doesnt mean he knows better than anyone.

Just for the record,I love Fed.I dont think i can ever pick a GOAT for the reason that you simply cant compare generation, surfaces(today grass is slower, clay is faster),its not fair that only open era slams count and many more variables(or shall i say too many).

Fed is reaching the critical point in his career,at about his age and status Borg decided to quit(with one slam more, not playing AO,winning FO and wimbeldoon when they were slower/faster accordingly),and Sampras began to slow down(had by this age 9 slams if im not mistaken).I hope he doesnt get injured or decide that he's had enough...

^^^If we are talking dominance than you can look at his match record and at the end of the year he very well could be under 20 loses over the course of 4 years. Incredible.

Just want to nail this down. Have you . . .

1) Played with Federer?

2) Spoken or had a conversation with Federer?

3) Did any combination of the above a number of times?

Not saying I disbelieve you, but I just want to verify. If this is any truth, can you talk about the experience(s)?

3) is right. I played friendy matches with him a few times, I met with him and had converstaion with him a lot of times. Scores were ( only 1 set) 0:6, and 0:50 in all games, shortly was 0:(6x50)=0:300. Impressions ?

Never saw nothing close, I'm training with my coach who is also former professional (I'm 41, I'm amateur). Difference: sky and earth. When Fed served I suceeded return only 1 his service, and that was very accidental: the ball hited the frame. I failed to return all other his serves. He defeated me in all points just by 1 winner-stroke. By USA standards my level is prorbably 4.0

Oh my god.. I want to be your friend and be around you all the time only so that when you play Federer again, I will be there

But all jokes aside, this makes me pretty jealous. I envy you man. I would love to experience a severe beating by Federer. Just experiencing his shots and how difficult it is to even bring a ball back. I think that I also would get more respect for other tour players, say a Canas, for actually making it difficult for Federer o even beating him.
