Very nice shot that at 27:00. Second only to current Djokovic's FH IMO.

Kiefer wasn't intimidated of Federer, not that that really mattered as Federer was too good.

He was talented but he was beset with injuries, I remember him playing Nadal in a final of a Masters tournament some time back. To think he made the quarters of Wimbledon in 1997!!!!

What's remarkable is that Kiefer used to always draw Federer at slams, my recollection being it was usually round of 16 stage. It was always a tussle, usually going to 4 sets and being the midpoint of the tournament match in which Federer played himself into the form that would carry him through the second week.

Yeah, Kiefer was the definition of toughie. He was also 3-1 against Fed in the h2h before 2003. And lol @ that 27:00 shot, just sick, I didn't remember that.

That Fed-Kief mini rivalry was so wonderful. Made Keifer one of my absolute favourites from that generation.
