Federer new +100 million Nike deal!

According to Swiss media (not yet confirmed by Federer management or Nike) Roger is going to be the best paid Tennis player in the history of this sport. So far Agassi was the best paid tennis player ever.

Basically the report says, that Roger is going to sign a contract with Nike over 130 million swiss francs. The contract is meant to run until Roger is far over 30 years old (as an active player). Nike has beaten Adidas, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren with this deal.
 
he is a brand himself so its only suitable that he gets big $$ for advertising other brands. money is simply not the main goal for him imo, he simply took what was on offer.
 
TW Inside Story says.............

In the "This Just In" section of TW's Inside Story section, they are reporting that Fed has reportedly signed the new Nike deal which is "the most lucrative endorsement ever".

I cannot seem to find any links to confirm this but if true, great new for Fed and other players also, as this could open the money doors for other great players to come in tennis.

If this is true, then this is great due to the fact that those not truly interested in the sport may start to see that tennis players can make some big money and possibly attract more interest to the sport in time. That would be nice to see. Arguably the GOAT, Roger deserves every dime--he has truly earned it.
 
It's about time tennis players were reconized for what they are and what the game is all about - real talent - which you have to have if you are up in the top of this game. It is so enlightening to think he is being considered to be worth this because I get so fed up with soccer players ( here in the Uk) being payed huge amounts of money and for what? We are dominated with news of soccer players and their antics rather than their real achievements, whereas tennis gets a few lines- unless it is a grand slam. Well done Fed you deserve it!
 
This just makes sense, Federer has been with Nike since he was 16. Though I'm suprised to hear to hear that they're paying him so much. I thought Nike was taking a step back from Men's tennis. I mean ever since they lost Andre and dropped Lleyton they were just so so involved with the men's tour.
 
I think Nike learned from their mistake losing agassi just before retirement, they know this guys going to be the best that ever picked up a racket and outside of America hes a huge star
 
Does Roger really move that much product? I think Nike maybe overpaying but in all fairness, I'm sure they overpay for many athletes who aren't nearly as accomplished as Roger.
 
This is about 120 mil USD. Maybe this is damn good deal for Nike considering Federer's Nike "Air" time on TV wearing Nike logos all over his body including his forehead.

Then again Roger is probably passing thru his prime time of his career. How many years is this deal on ?

What is 120 mil USD ? eur to usd is much closer to 1.5 now .. ;)

Considering where they sell ( whole world ) and what they sell I am sure that he does generate a lot of cash. I dont know if he will contribute more in $f or $ terms but I mean, you would want to have a legend wearing your company's outfits. I mean they will always be able to show pics of him wearing nothing but nike .. Simply that has no price in terms of todays advertising, I think Nike always had excellent deals with people. Though this sounds like a way over the top offer, when you think about tennis, and put it in perspective .. People who dont watch tennis nor any other sports know who Roger Federer is .. Says a lot doesn't it.
 
Cant remember where I read or heard this but one of the reasons reported that Nike is paying him soooo much is because Nike realizes how cheap they have gotten off the last several years. His old Nike deal was not that great and for the past five years Fed has been tearing up the tour, in the finals of everything and at the time was being paid "pennies" compared to what he was accomplishing.

Just what I heard, makes sense!

Just kidding. Really happy for the guy. Just like Tiger for golf, Roger is a great ambassador of tennis.

Are you kidding? People who don't even watch tennis know about Roger Federer. RF deserves a big endorsement over the likes of Sharapova. I know people who don't buy Canon cameras because of her.
