Look at his sweater, left side. He's glowing... Descent of the archangel to deliver us #9? Yes please! 8-B

I feel like Fed has entered a new look stage. He was kind of getting that old look for the past few years. Now he has stepped into the "old, but handsome and suave" look. New hair, tighter clothing. I don't know, he just looks different this summer, and he looks much better than he did in the past couple of years.

Maybe I am just going crazy?

He has finally accepted that he's Fedr... Rogr Fedr. ;)

i truly dont get mirka's fashion sometimes, like girl you are rich what is that
Yeah and sometimes her clothes look like she is still living in the late 90's early 2000's.

No worries. The twin girls will turn 10 very soon. In 5 yrs, when they are 15yo still touring with daddy, they will guide her onto the fashionista path. Which means that Fedr will still be playing on tour then ;).

New hair plugs, Botox, restylane and other fillers. It's all good though. As he transitions into retirement within the next 2-3 years, his appearance becomes paramount since his athletic career will be over. Obviously Uniqlo is going to use him as a model/spokesperson after Roger hangs up his racket. Consider what he looked like at 18, 19. He's made the most out of his looks and has improved dramatically from his youth.

Looks like this $129 Uniqlo "suit." He used to be so amazingly well-dressed in his $3,000 suits. But for 30 millions, I guess ya gotta compromise!

I'm not savvy enough with the more expensive stuff, so can't say much. Fedr looks good there for this wedding. Generally, I'm of the opinion that Fedr is such a good dresser, he makes even t-shirts look good. He even made the RG19/Halle19 kit look pretty good. Not many can do that.

Look at him in this pre-WB19 presser. Just a white blazer, over a black polo, and he hits it out of the park. 8-B

edit: the little 'Uniqlo' pin he has on the blazer looks elegant. The perfect size. Uniqlo really should consider making their logo of similar size for Fedr's match kits. I mean come on, people know that he's wearing Uniqlo without it being front, center, and gaudy.

O man, I have a daughter of nearly fifteen. Believe me, they consider us so old that they don't think our clothing choices matter so long as we don't actually embarrass them.

And Fed will have to radically alter his off-court persona. No more giggling, no more Dad dancing, they will probably prefer him not to speak at all.

How do we feel about Fed having to play Berentinni? I don't mind it, but I guess it would be tougher than coric. Has anybody seen Berentinni play? I have seen like 10 minutes of him.

Well....

For one, it's a big ask for him to reach 4R to meet Fedr. His best result at WB is a 2R (3R at RG is his best slam result so far in his young career). Two, admittedly he's a possibly tougher opponent based on recent form, I feel that Berrettini is the type of opponent Fedr would rather face over Coric.

Metronomes like Djokr and Coric (Djokr-lite) are the types that trouble Fedr more I think (they don't blow him off the court, but they don't miss much, which frustrates Fedr into errors, beating himself). Power hitters like Berrettini should be relatively easier and preferred by Fedr (see Berdych/Roddick/Khachanov/Cilic). I don't rate Berrettini at prime-Berdych/Roddick/Cilic levels yet, and Fedr has mostly handled them fine. Also, Berrettini's best might not even be as good at Tsonga's level at Halle19 against Fedr. And Fedr usually plays even better at Winbly. As long as Fedr takes Berrettini seriously (which he definitely will bc of his recent comments about his disappointments after he lost to Anderson last year), he should be ok. But again, Berrettini might not even make 4R bc slams are simply different, as we have seen time and time again with Z.

edit: p.s. Berrettini swapping sections with Struff might be a blessing in disguise for Fedr. Struff is more all court than Berrettini (thus potentially more dangerous when hot, like he has been this year, his best year to date), and their forms are about the same this year.

Just what I needed. Good analysis.

I added this after hitting post:

Sounds like what I thought, Fed should be able to handle him unless we have crazy tiebreakers. Although, if Fed loses to a young gun, at least we have some guys moving on up.

Like many of us, I'm a bit nervous too. But this WB just feels 'destined', if you will. AO19 Djokr, RG19 Nadl, WB19 Fedr. Anything 'can' happen, but I feel Fedr likely makes the finals without facing Nadl, and he may just win the whole thing without facing Djokr. He's the only guy I would favor over Fedr, but the Fedfan in me says #9 ;).

I think this year unlike last he feels in good mental shape. In '18 he was still shaken by the loss in Indian Wells, he looked a mess in Halle, I don't think he was in the right space at all.

Coming in this year he had a great win in Miami, performed probably beyond his own expectations in the clay season and actually won in Halle. That doesn't mean he's going to win but it does feel like he's better prepared.
