Federer can seriously pull off the James Bond look. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I see him dressed up like this.
It helps having those shoulders
lol!

And lol at WB. It's not been a full day of play and the baseline is already rekt.

Then we have Kudla saying WB plays like the slowest of the slams now (a slight exaggeration? bc CPI of RG is super slow). But there's gotta be a reason he voiced his opinions.
thats down to temperature though

Would love to hear what Fed has to say tomorrow about the courts. He usually does not show his cards, but hope he takes the positives.
The courts were very slow last year and he sort of side stepped that question in his post-match pressers. In his early rounds, he said something like, "things usually speed up the second week, we'll see." I bet he won't address the slow courts except in very bland terms tomorrow. I'd love for him to be honest and say, "Why does Wimbledon keep screwing up my chances here? This court is slow AF and plays like clay!" Would love him to shake off the P.C. answers he gives these days and just let loose.

Yeah, I wish he would say something like "look, this is no longer grass tennis. Why can't we have different surfaces that play differently? If the surfaces are the same, so are our games, and it will be boring and predictable."

But he won't...

True that. I think Fed has moved on regarding the slowing down of fast court events. Fed is doing his best to adapt and is doing ok. Looks like the CC is playing slower than last year, so hopefully an Anderson-like defeat is not on the cards. I think the playing conditions favored Anderson where the ball was bouncing higher than usual because of the high temp. CC does look muggy this year and the bounce seems low. Slow and low is way better than slow and high.

In any case, Wimbledon is still his best tournament. Since 2015 its F, SF, W, QF.

Yeah I was at Wimbledon yesterday, court 3 and 11 seemed really low and quite fast but centre looked much slower and more importantly higher bouncing. Not sure how much that is from being "closer and lower" to the court on the smaller courts

Interesting first round. Fed wasn't clicking, alot of UE's. After the break in the first set, he was playing totally different, had opportunities to break back to get back on serve, but kudos on Harris who held his nerves. The following sets were just routine...18 games for Fed and only 5 to Harris.
