This. I saw the Nadal Querrey highlights. Safe to say Fed has a damn better serve than Querrey. Just avoid Nadal’s BH at any cost.

No strong FS means Nadal get control of that point. Then it’s RG SF part 2.

Fed getting tentative is my only worry.
"tentative" is the key word. IMO he really started going for it in his last 2 matches.

We have to remember, anything we've thought about the GOAT's game his team thought about last year and have already dissected to death. IGWT

This semi feels like another step in the direction of the inevitable world in which Feds slam count is overtaken by Rafa and Novak
Tread carefully here. This is for fans of Fed, not trolls or triplicate accounts. The first page of the Fed News thread expressly states the rules:

Same rules as Nadalovic News, no trolling thanks. Worship responsibly.

You're obviously not a Fed fan since your first message with your new account is trolling BS and is grounds to be banned for you (again). You'd better make sure your IP doesn't match all your other crap accounts, because if you post again here, you're being reported.

I just love how everyone just assumes Djoker will win 5 more and Rafa 3 more. Winning these things are easier for them, but not easy.

Maybe not, but I do not like how Fed has been hitting it. But I can't stand how Fed overhits so many second serve reurns. I love the facts that he is sitting on it ready to pounce and smash it, but he overcooks it a bit much.

I actually love that he's trying this tactic, which he should have used in the 2008 Nadal final (he did try it 4 times with 50% success rate). It's better to go for it with the FH winner ROS instead of standing back there passively, chipping short returns which Rafa will pounce on and annihilate. Kei's second serve is a powder puff, so that tactic was wise. He needs to do it with Rafa and do it early to send him a message. Even if Fed fails, it puts doubt in Nadal's mind and he may go for too much on his second serve. With this match, every point is important.

Sure, you wonder how it escapes detection... but also what's in it for them!

The answer is obvious: they get the attention that they lack in their real lives. I guess for people with no careers, private lives or personal success, getting some stranger on the Internet to notice you constitutes as a "win" in an otherwise pathetically barren life. People who are happy don't troll, they don't even know how to do it, nor would it occur to them.

Definitely like the tactic, but he needs to have a better percentage of winning that point. Otherwise just get it back and play. A few misses is okay bit not 2/5. He would probably win 2/5 by just getting it back in play too.

I certainly don't doubt you here.

But I'm also curious about the intimate familiarity with the phenomenon.

I will be honest, I have been watching these two since 05, and I have this strong feeling that there is simply no way Fed can beat Rafa. I see it being 4 or 5 sets, but no special stuff like A017 (that was a once in a lifetime match as far as feelings go). I just have not seen a realistic argument where Fed prevails. Friday will be rough, especially if RBA beats Djoker too.

@Otacon , I commend your positivity, but I know how this will play out, and it is not good. Fed needed 5 sets and a crazy comeback to beat Rafa on a much faster AO surface... almost 3 years ago. I have been sick to my stomach for two days, and come Friday, I dont even know if FBPD will even go into effect.

The low bounce should be the wild card, but of course it won't be enough.I would have preferred a meeting between these two a few years back, something like 2014, 2015 or 2017, not now.

I did not mean to come across as trolling, I very much dread living in a world where Roger is anything but the all-time slam leader but the way Rafa and Novak have been playing for the past year make me feel very pessimistic. I apologize and I could have written a better first comment.

So far, what I'm clinging to is the fact that Fed destroyed a man who won a grass court tournament this year and a top 10 player in KN. The way people talk about Rafa's draw has made me question why we even bother ranking players if we're just gonna declare every unseeded big server as super dangerous. What I'm worried about is if Fed can play as freely here as he did in AO 2017. I'd love an excuse to close the roof. Nadal got his tornado French it's only fair we get a Wimbledon under the roof.

My Swiss Shepherd has her Fed bandana on and is ready to bark it up. She says Fed will win.

Laughing at this actually alleviated the knot in the pit of my stomach, thank you. :) The last time I was this nervous was 2017 AO final. I think Fed fans all over the world have elevated heart rates right now. I just wish the match would start! Once it starts, the nerves go away a tiny bit.

Win the first set, then the second, and then the third, and then I will have the pit out of my stomach. :p
