Fed is in London.
If so, that win may come in the RR ...It is happening. Fed will win WTF. I just have a feeling, and I think Fed is due a win over Djoker. Dont think Rafa makes it to SF (withdrawal or form).
I like Thiem, but I want Federer to crush him to smithereens (to pay for Madrid and IW).Fed is in London.
By form I meant level. In 2015 it dropped in the final. I'm positing that if doesn't, the rest are screwed, and I stand by it, no matter how many specific past failures you point out.His semifinal against Murray was the greatest form he'd shown since 2012 at that time. He went into the Wimbledon final in devastating form and nobody can argue that who actually remembers 2015. His form instantly became trash in the final after he was broken-- mental demons, as previously mentioned. His serving in the semis was one of his most devastating serving performances of his career, yet he served mediocre in the final.
I still remember that match from 2015, easily one of his best performances in a slam this decade. Murray was playing great tennis and didn't play a bad match by any means but no one could touch Federer that day. As some would say at the time, it looked like Federer turned back the clock during that match. It's a bit ironic that after playing at such a high level in the SF, he played one of his worst slam finals ever 48 hours later. A month later he had once again his best run in the decade at the USO, if I remember correctly he didn't even drop serve until the final, but we all know how that ended. His semifinal against Murray was the greatest form he'd shown since 2012 at that time. It seems no matter how great Federer plays, when Djokovic is on the other side of the net and there's something important at stake, he turns into a different player. You have to give Djokovic some dues here because he does such a great job of defending and making you hit those few extra shots/winners to score a point against him and he's great at making Federer uncomfortable and doubt himself but still I think Federer could do a better job of being aggressive against him. At this point, the match-up issue is pretty much mental as Djokovic is living rent free in Federer's mind, so he needs to find a way to evict him from there.

As massive as Fed's forehead has become... that lady's is looking even more luxuriant.
I just realized how big his forehead has gone. Wow.As massive as Fed's forehead has become... that lady's is looking even more luxuriant.
And then there's Ljub...
Haven't posted in Casa de GOAT recently.
Fed's GOAT, folks!
To outright trolls and pseudo-trolls, alike: You got @Tennis_Hands banned from the thread. Now one of the most informed (and informative) of Federer fans no longer has privileges to post here.
Kudos all around!
The sunglasses too. Don't forget the sunglasses.I had no idea people could be banned from specific threads. @Tennis_Hands is a fun poster to banter with! Defends his views with all his might but always very courteously
When you don't get the sunglasses... not good. The sunglasses too. Don't forget the sunglasses.
Can't say I ever felt the love.I had no idea people could be banned from specific threads. @Tennis_Hands is a fun poster to banter with! Defends his views with all his might but always very courteously

Most of the time, yeah. Sometimes, he edits the emote to fit the context but most of the time he uses the sunglasses.LOL, didn't notice that. Did he sign off with the sunglasses every time?

OwO
What in the world was he doing?

Fed was supposed to win the WTF in 2017, but wasted this opportunity (moreover, which this edition of WTF was without Djoker's participation). With Nole in good form, it will be difficult for Fed to win the WTF again. It's high time Fed nuked at the WTF. It's a modern day tragedy that 2011 was his last title there; it's turned into the indoor US Open for him. Injuries, poor form and falling at the final hurdle are all too familiar disasters.
Too much 'wasted' thrown around here for me. There's a middle ground between success and failure but that rarely gets delved into, which is a shame. The trophies are binary enough as it is.Fed was supposed to win the WTF in 2017, but wasted this opportunity (moreover, which this edition of WTF was without Djoker's participation). Fed has his weaknesses. Maybe it is mental. I would argue he has had some failures at big moments. Then again he came up MASSIVE at AO17.That's the same stupidity as to say - I graduated from whole secondary school, just right I failed at matury.
Fed failed to complete its efforts successfully. That Fedex was optically better player in the Wimbledon 2019 final may be interesting, but tennis is not only a confrontation of strikes, but also test of mental toughness. And in this particular case, Fedex has failed.
Obviously, that you underestimate Nole. All the bigger your disappointing will be if Fedex lost against Djoker.
Djoker's performances in first two matches of Paris Masters was subpar, but then its form improved. Ultron was excellent against Tsitsipas in Paris QF, his SF and F performances were also very good.
It is to be expected that Djoker's encounter with Fed at the 2019 ATP finals will be balanced again. Most of balanced matches in Djokerer's rivalry were won by Djoker.
Fed rarely goes the extra mile these days when describing the court speed like he does in this statement. This is what we want to hear
And some potentially good news is the ESPN podcast from last week where Jim Courier said he "has heard from sources I deem reliable" that the AO will be "fast" (didn't say how fast) and low bouncing. Let's keep our fingers crossed for that.Fed rarely goes the extra mile these days when describing the court speed like he does in this statement. This is what we want to hear
Hahaha this made me guffaw I now want some cheddarer
His crap was removed. Notice none of this ever happens on the Rafa news thread because Octo/Queen make sure it doesn't (to their credit). What the heck is UnderratedSlam doing here pushing the weak era rhetoric in a thread for Federer fans? Lmao
It looks like Fed's hardcourt game is not working anymore on the biggest stages. It's been almost 2 years now.
Curiously enough, at the same time he reached the SF at the French this year. What a hell
This defeat doesn't bother me that much because Thiem just played too well today. All you can do is congratulate him on a truly inspired level and adroit game plan. He outplayed Roger in every facet of the game.Well Thiem does win in the end...Played a great match and completely overpowered Federer...........What a disappointment....
Is there a specific mod that focuses on this thread? That was a very quick deletion. His crap was removed. Notice none of this ever happens on the Rafa news thread because Octo/Queen make sure it doesn't (to their credit).
That recent poster wasn't doing what is supposed to be happening in this sub forum:
1. Posting news about Roger
2. "Worshiping responsibly"
Yes. That's true. Was a sub par Federer but still kept it fairly close with respect to points won...Thiem though was quite clutch....Something about WTF makes Federer play bad at least for the first match. Happened last year as well.. He looked even worse in that one in my opinion. Him not making the SFs looks quite likely now.....Sort of cyclic considering he failed to make the SFs in the last ever WTF hosted in Shanghai and might repeat it in the last ever WTF in London.....This defeat doesn't bother me that much because Thiem just played too well today. All you can do is congratulate him on a truly inspired level and adroit game plan. He outplayed Roger in every facet of the game.
