"excited". i mean i know he cant say he doesnt want to play novak but blegh not looking forward to that match esp knowing that it is a must win
I wasn't basing this on his practices though. I know he is more relaxed in those. More based on his history against nole and preasure on him and it doesn't seem like he has quite found his level. Maybe he will find that serve that he left at wimbledon for tomorrowI see your point. But maybe the Fedovic match being a 'must win' is a good thing for Fedr. Sure, I'd put Fedr's chances at 40-60 against Djokr, but I think Fedr has always played better when it 'counts'. Many players beat Fedr easily in practice (i.e. non serious) but have a hard time winning even sets against him in real matches. His best bud Chiudinelli said he beats Fedr all the time in practice but just couldn't ever beat him in live matches. He said that Fedr is a different player in real match play. Have you seen Fedr's practices? They're done in such a relaxed fashion.
I am afraid that Fed's ground game is not good anymore if he faces a well playing Djokovic. All he can do is land at least 70 % serves in and win eventually in the tiebreak. It's unbelivable that he lost all recent tiebreakers against Novak.Man I am already nervous about tomorrow. If Fed wins this it will be his biggest win this year in my opinion, even more than his title wins. Maybe Rafa win at WC, but I just see this as a massive opportunity for now and possibly his future mental state.
It will be tough and is not likely to happen. I wont even be able to watch it live, so instead of re-watching (I always do no matter the outcome), I wont even check the live scores. I will have to just check like 3 hours later. Too stressful knowing the likely outcome.I am afraid that Fed's ground game is not good anymore if he faces a well playing Djokovic. All he can do is land at least 70 % serves in and win eventually in the tiebreak. It's unbelivable that he lost all recent tiebreakers against Novak.
I'm not that nervous because I have no real expectation of winning. If Roger plays like he has the last 2 matches, he won't even get a set.Man I am already nervous about tomorrow. Your avatar is but a distant memory. Sad face.I am afraid that Fed's ground game is not good anymore if he faces a well playing Djokovic. All he can do is land at least 70 % serves in and win eventually in the tiebreak. It's unbelivable that he lost all recent tiebreakers against Novak.
Yeah but it's a difference between courts here and the ones in Basel.Let's be optimistic thoughIt will be tough and is not likely to happen. If Fed can play like he did in Basel, it could happen. I do expect Djoker to have his A game though locked in.
True.AO 2007, good old timesYour avatar is but a distant memory. Sad face.
I'm not that nervous because I have no real expectation of winning. If Roger plays like he has the last 2 matches, he won't even get a set.
And even if he does pull it off, the last few years have made me very skeptical of his chances to actually take home the trophy.
At least there probably won't be any shenanigans one might describe as choke related. I imagine a 6-4 7-5 sort of affair, at best. Of course, could very well be wrong.Tomorrow's going to be rough, isn't it?
Probably the last we'll see of Fed until AO, so let's try to enjoy it lol.
I wouldn't get my hopes up. Roger is in very poor form and shanking way too many balls. Fed would have to play at his summer 2015 level (sadly without the SABR these days) and Novak would have to come out flat and out of form. The chances of both things happening aren't good. When was the last time these two played when Djokovic was off form? Dubai 2015 I'm thinking and Fed was 34 there, not 38.Man I am already nervous about tomorrow. If Fed wins this it will be his biggest win this year in my opinion, even more than his title wins. Maybe Rafa win at WC, but I just see this as a massive opportunity for now and possibly his future mental state.
Consider the quality of opponents he faced in Basel. None of those guys are 1/10th the player Novak is. And Fed has no mental demons against any of his Basel opponents. Sorry to sound like a downer, but at age 38, Fed beating Novak would be a huge upset. If Fed can play like he did in Basel, it could happen.
Am I living in a false reality for a day or two? Yes, yes I am.Consider the quality of opponents he faced in Basel. None of those guys are 1/10th the player Novak is. Fed has no mental demons against Stef and Stef isn't 1/10th the player Djoker is. That's what my post said and I stand by it.Forgot about Tsitsipas?
Let's hope you are right. Very unlikely though. It is happening. Fed 6-4 7-6. Yes, yes I did say Fed wins a tiebreaker.

Another AD-system conspiracy post?
Probably looks like a Cincy 2018 type loss the way they’re playing, but Fed’s got nothing to lose and might crank out some baseline magic.
It’s going to take about three big beatings for Djokovic to get the points lead in their head to head. Federer right now, at age 38, against a GOAT candidate, has won more than half the points played against Djokovic DESPITE playing 1,000 matches head to head after turning 30.
Another AD-system conspiracy post?
What’s these points worth if Federer can’t capitalize on them?
Hahah....Yes...Feels like a slam match....Nervous.
Thanks to all of you optimistic Roger fans thinking he was going to win it and never losing optimism.Yes, yes and yes !!!!!!
"excited". i mean i know he cant say he doesnt want to play novak but blegh not looking forward to that match esp knowing that it is a must win
Ok, I'll eat my words. That was incredible. 23-5 W/UE?? Ridiculous from Maestro.Tomorrow's going to be rough, isn't it?

He was really determined to win and he landed in 73% of his first serves which was crucial.Heck, in the first set even 83%.His ground game was also better than most expected.Ok, I'll eat my words. That was incredible. 23-5 W/UE?? Ridiculous from Maestro.
From the way he played it seemed like he was very excited to face Novak.
Absolute Masterclass. He was really determined to win and he landed in 73% of his first serves which was crucial.Heck, in the first set even 83%.His ground game was also better than most expected.
Let's hope he wins the tournament now.Absolute Masterclass.
Yeah, but this one helps!lol i've very happy and relieved. the sting of wimbledon idt will never not be there for me though.
Yeah, but this one helps!
In style. Always.Hey fellow Federer fans, I’m new here. How do we celebrate in Maestroland?
Really wrong about this one, and given his age, is really the best old man win in tennis history (his back to back outplaying of Nadal and Djoko at Wimby is also up there).
AND at 38 years of age has won MORE THAN HALF of all points played between the two. Federer has 49.4%of all points vs. Nadal, while Djokovic has won 49.6%of points vs. Federer.
Between the two, more sets won, more games won, more points won, more breaks, more return points won, more serve points won, more everything.
Djokovic wasn’t better at any aspect of the game against a 38 year old man who thoroughly dominated the Serbian champion twice this season. Novak was lucky the old man got nervous and handed a match to Novak that was on the Swiss GOAT’s racket the entire time.
