Is that literally a projection on to that building?

I’m super glad he
Fed and Ljub in Switzerland on Wednesday, arriving at an indoor training facility (still not in Dubai):

I’m super glad he’s not giving up after all that sad puppy award show talk.

But man, if that’s not the saddest picture of Federer I’ve ever seen.

He looks like he’s headed to the gallows.

He can't be photogenic/happy in every pic that's taken of him. It has been thousands/millions? of pics over the years!

I’m sure I’m just being melodramatic.

It’s just really bad timing after all those retirement worries.

And honestly - I’ve can’t remember ever seeing him look that bad.

roger's going to miss out on christmas. do they have christmas tree in dubai ?
It should be noted that Dubai and the Emirates in general are populated by more foreigners than locals, so there is a Christmas tree every year. Moreover, with the recent diplomatic events, there are even synagogues. Dubai has become a truly cosmopolitan city.

Wow I didn’t think he’d go there before Christmas. I’m assuming his family is with him or will join him next week?

I am hearing from this British commentator during this Live match that there is a big question mark as to if Federer may or may not play the australian open 2021 ? What's this all about ?

That article doesn't actually confirm anything, just that he's on the entry list.

Fair enough. But it's much better than if he's off of it, no? ;)

He made the effort to fly to Dubai and is training. Based on that, I'm optimistic he'll play, or he may as well stayed home in cozy Switzerland and start training after the New Year.

Oh yeah I am too. Going to Dubai was great news and given that Australia was delayed, I expect him to be ready in time.

I was just pointing out that the article that tweet linked to had no new information. Everyone's automatically put on that entry list unless you specifically withdraw, which he still could as it get closer.

True, but Switzerland wasn’t on the entry list for the ATP Cup last year when Fed was healthy. Both Stan and Fed withdrew in December. Since they didn’t do that this year, it makes it possible they’ll play.

Consider every other team except Russia has one good/great player and one spare tire as a team. Switzerland could go far with two great players:

Serbia: Djokovic/Lajovic
Spain: Nadal/Bautista
Austria:Thiem/Novak
Russia: Medvedev/Rublev
Switzerland: Federer/Wawrinka
Greece: Tsitsipas/Perolarakis
Germany: Zverev/Struff
Argentina: Schwartzman/Pella
Italy: Berrettini/Fognini
Japan: Nishikori/Nishioka
France: Monfils/Paire
Australia: Wild Card
Canada (alternates): Shapovalov/Raonic

Time will tell but i think Stan is done with doing anything remotely great, all those train hard IG posts didn't really translate to on court success last year. He is also turning 36 in a few months.
While on another side, Federer has already proven impossible is possible so one has to give him benefit of doubt he can turn back time one more year hah

If Rublev can keep on improving then Russia sure has a deadly combo.
