Federer opened my eyes to Uniqlo

So before Wimbledon, I owned mostly Nike stuff with a little Under Armour. I thought Uniqlo was some weird, overpriced Asian brand. Well, I was completely wrong. I went to a Uniqlo store for the first time and was really impressed. The quality was very nice and the prices were phenomenal. They're definitely more of a fashion brand, but still. I bought a few golf polos. I was impressed. So, thanks Fed

Weird is UA. No thanks to Fed you had to watch Novak who used it for a long period and Nishikori as well.

I managed to get my hands on the Polo that djokovic wore when I was in London from a Uniqlo Store. the branding of his logo was literally a big block of vinyl on the sleeve. I do like their clothing offering they have in store in my local area. Their Airism shirt is worth getting as it feels like you arent wearing them since theyre so light.

I been saying this the quality is really good and wears and washes well. Even when I was sloppy sweaty the shirt doesnt cling and moves naturally.

Yeah I think they're very good. My biggest complaint about shirts, are that the sleeves are incredibly wide. Uniqlo's are tighter, which I like

Uniqlo is a good brand. Just got my first Nishi polo from this years USO. Last December is when I first ever went in a Uniqlo store, got their sport/athletic jacket and sweat pants all for under $70.

Not sure about their tennis specific line, but I've been disappointed with their shorts. I do like their quick dry v-neck t-shirts, they wear and wash well and have been super comfortable and pretty good at wicking on the court. I have 3 I rotate and have barely used any of my other tennis shirts since getting them.

Their quick dry athletic shorts are a different story, the material has piled in odd areas and changed its feel pretty quickly after not a lot of washing and wearing. They've been relegated to either sleep wear or super casual around the house usage.

We have a Uniqlo store downtown Chicago and I have been a convert ever since I went in there. There sports clothing is great and I like their casual line even better. I think half of my slacks are all from there. Their tennis shirts are great too. Not to mention their prices are amazing and when you catch them during sales they practically give the stuff away. I could buy like four sale shirts for the price of one from Nike.

Aerism microfiber shirts are great, very soft and super light and breathable
The Airism underwears are even better. My boxers/trunks are almost all Airism now, save for a few cotton ones.

Airism range for summer, Heattech range for winter.

Now if they can just sort out their design for Nishikori apparels. Those poo-poo brown colour stuff are just not nice.

Agreed. The brown looks bad. I liked the Wimbledon shirt but didn't want a brown stripe on the collar. Same with the USO shorts. I like the red ones but don't want the brown stripe

I agree with the OP, I have never really been to the Uniqlo store but decided to check it out after this post. Purchased some of the dryex shorts - but the higher quality and bit more pricy. These are probably the best shorts I have ever had for tennis. They are incredibly light weight and so smooth inside, dont have to worry about weight or sweat. For $40 AUD these are pretty much unbeatable. Hopefully they last a long time.

Next time the pro styles come back I will try and get some, but unsure about ability to find them in Australia... If they are like these but a better cut I will probably just stick with them for the foreseeable future. Really like Nishikori's line and his shorts style so will probably look at them. Wish I just got the Federer set but its not available anymore, I wouldnt use the headband but the wrist bands would be nice.

Edit* not that they were overpriced but really didnt know that much about them as they werent in the DFOs here. I wont purchase nike anymore, too many poor styles. Also their shoes durability is ratshit.

I hate to admit it but I did check out the Uniqlo regular clothing on-line. They actually have really good prices on women's clothes and a couple of things I have been looking for - summer and fall jackets and reasonably priced cashmere sweaters. I'm going to order a few things and see if there's any quality with the low prices.

I bought the wristband on sale this summer (I'm based in the UK). They are more like 1.5 wide rather than double wide. I like the thick material too. I'd be getting their headband if and when they have it on sale.

I always look out for their sale online (I'm based in the UK) and have them delivered free to my nearest Uniqlo store for pick up.

Cant find any of the tennis stuff instore or online in Australia. Have messaged their facebook so hopefully they can let me know if I am wasting my time.

I placed a pretty big order with TW for adidas gear. I'm ditching all the Nike stuff I have. I love the Uniqlo kits, but it's too hard to buy. BTW - the Nike stuff is going to Good Will.

Good Will is one lucky guy to be getting all of your Nike stuff! :)

That’s why UNIQLO paid Fed the big bucks - for comments just like this one.

yeah you can also wear it outside casually. and not look like you're about to run a marathon, like you would if wearing under armour/nike ect.

This is just what The GOAT wants. To be the face of a fashion brand post retirement. Nike wouldn't be able to give him this shot. Blame Wintour.

Nike had that RF gig of casual clothing, and they NEVER did anything with it, and now Uniqlo is doing exactly the same look at an affordable for most people price point.

great Uniqlo tennis stuff they have up now. Seven months into this deal...and their USA site has the AO shirt in XS only. That's...Xtra...Small. And one pair of white shorts in XL and XXL. Yep, THAT is the way to market a tennis GOAT. Roger, you got what you wanted...too bad your fans can't buy it. Bags? Nope. Sweats? Sorry. Wristbands, headbands, socks? Don't think so.

But then we knew this would happen, right? See Djokovic, Novak.

Epic fail.

RF Nike will live on in the hearts of those that recognize that no one can deny some of Rogi’s most cherished victories were co-starring a beautiful, epic, immortal Nike RF kit.

Even his father cannot let go of the glorious Nike RF hats.

What a horrible loss for Nike and Rogi.

For the price, uniqlo is the greatest. Their qulity is amazing. Unlike other competitors within their price range per product uniqlo is great as they don’t focus so much about being trendy like H&M or Zara which as a sneaker head is great.

I’m kinda surprised what uniqlo is doing with roger, I feel it’s going abit slow. I remember when Novak signed with Lacoste when I was in London all I saw was Novak posters, literally EVERYWHERE.

There are so many outfits roger wears that doesn’t even get sold. as much as Nike milks the hell out of everything at least we know we can get a hand on all the outfits that the pros wear.

I feel like uniqlo are going abit slow, would love to see all of rogers stuff being released.

No one knows what is going on in US market. Probably Uniqlo had higher volumes in US but still sold out those quickly.
All sizes were available but sold out quicker than people thought.
Looks like there are plenty of sizes are available outside of US. There is a good possibility that people from outside of US bought items from US uniqlo (with help from their friends and families etc....) since the kit was released Japan, US and Australia first. A little surprised that Nishikori items are not available at all in US market.

You knew it so don’t be surprised hahahaha
I don’t think uniqlo will change at all.

So many outfits? Not sure about that. He wore many items from uniqlo. Inside and outside courts.
Yes there were several items which is only for him but Nike made more custom products for Fed.

A little surprised that He will wear something new for Dubai (at least different color) but wearing same kit.
Probably IW with new color/design or go back to Henley with new color but possibly it will be a player exclusive.
Looks like uniqlo will release new kits to public for GS kits.

I mean stuff like the laver cup henley, or a pair or tennis shorts that come in black. Idk, I feel like uniqlo had so much potential that is now being wasted with the same boring outfits. It's just abit stale imo

I thought UNIQLO made generally conservative yet slightly creative clothing

As it turns out fed opened my eyes to the fact that their kits are highly conservative and incredibly uncreative, and this coming from someone who liked many of the recent Rafa and Fed Nike kits
