Federer testing his volley for Djokovic match or to prolong his career?

It's very interesting how Federer is getting more and more to the net.

I have found it very interesting his video interview where he said that he always tries to get to the net, but the courts are often slow to do that. At a certain point he seems he wants to cut short the question by sayin "I am ok"

I think that the motivations of going so much to the net are first that he needs it to beat Djokovic, second the more he goes to the net the less he is on court, and that would be very helpful as he gets more and more into his 30s.

No. And even if he were trying to volley more against Djesus it's going to fail. I can already see the passing shots whizzing past Fed as we speak.

Yes Federer failed against the Novak in Wimbledon and Cincinatti.
The only person capable of beating Novak in Dubai is Federer.....and when he does you should stop talking like Djokovic is some god.

IMO it seems like Nadal is getting to the net more. I have already seen him S&V twice this year!!

Since when? He hasn't lost a match yet this year, and over the past 2 years has been practically unbeatable. Sorry, but until he actually starts losing matches, I'm not convinced.

Wow after a whole 1 and a half tournaments he is unbeaten! Hardly a 2011 run yet. last year he lost in dubai and 3 out of 4 slams.

Are you serious? After all the huge losses he endured throughout 2012? Djokovic was anything but unbeatable in 2012

Ummm...how about at 3 of the 4 Slams last year? And what medal did he win at the Olympics again?

He may have won the last 3 AOs, but he barely escaped some very tough matches in the last 2 years. Considering that's by far his best Slam, he can hardly be classified as unbeatable on that. You could call them impressive and clutch performances certainly, but not invincible by any stretch.

Well, we will just have to wait and see but I am sure he will have another 2011 run this year. Nobody is going to beat him until at least Wimby, and even then I wouldn't be surprised if he won that too.

What huge losses? He won a ton of titles last year, and made the final of 3 out of 4 of the slams. He's about as unbeatable as one can get.

Okay, so there is still some doubt that Djokovic would win Wimbledon. Good, that's a start Clarky.

I love how you answered your own stupid question but are too thick to realize it. Let's do some basic math:

he made 3 Slam finals last year
he won 1 of them
therefore, how many Slam finals did he lose?

???
He got owned badly by Nadal the entire CC season

Federer beat him convincingly at Wimbledon.

Murray straight settled him at the Olympics and the US Open.

He lost his number 1 ranking for Pete's sake? How exactly is that being " about as unbeatable as one can get"? Do you realize how absurd that statement is?

My point was he went deep in every tournament he played, and won matches that he never should have won. Those lost finals mean crap. He's right back on a roll again like he was in 2011.

The lost finals certainly mean something; they mean djesus was not "practically unbeatable" as you mentioned earlier

Nadal did not own anything. Those matches were close and could have gone either way.

No, the USO final was a close 5 set match, and was far from a straight setter.

Again, he went deep in every tournament he played last year(except for Bercy). He won matches he never should have won, and made finals left and right. He's not losing to anyone this year until Wimby, and he is obviously more than capable of winning that as well.

He may have lost those finals, but he is right back to being unbeaten already again this year. Those lost finals obviously did not affect him whatsoever. Until he actually starts losing matches, I'm not convinced he's beatable.

This was the only thing you got right in this post honestly, and it was on a factual error. But I suppose 1 out of 3 is a start.

Nope, Nadal owned him in the clay court season . That 3rd set in the RG final was the high point of Djokovics clay court season last year.

you are correct. USO was a 5 setter. Apologies for the poorly written sentence.

Djokovic was defeated in 3/4 slams, the Olympics, and several master series events. It is an absolute fact that Djokovic was not "practically unbeatable".

Djokovic wins the AO every year now. Lets see how be does moving forward. He sure wasn't unbeatable last year after winning the AO

And lets be honest here while we're at it. Federer was much closer to unbeatable in his prime years than Djokovic is now. But because Nadal was still getting his fair share of wins over Federer and now he's not against Djokovic you're complaining about it.

Huh? I am not complaining about anything. I genuinely think Djesus is unbeatable, and has been for 2 years now. Nadal has nothing to do with it.

Nadal made 3 out of 4 slam finals in 2011 and you then rated making finals as nothing. in fact you once compared djokovic's 2012 season to nadals 2011 and called them both failures.

And what he done since then? Missed nearly an entire season with busted knees, and has been struggling/losing against the purest of mugs. And yes Nadal's 2011 was a gigantic failure. He would have been better off losing before all of those finals for obvious reasons.

Now, compare that to what Djesus has done since last year. He certainly did not let himself get into a rut against the same guy over and over again just because he lost a final to him, has already won a slam, and is again unbeaten like he was in 2011. Which one do you think is better?

Just don't make any excuses for Djokovic when he is beaten repeatedly and has an even worse year than 2012 (not that it was bad at all).
